I should imagine it'll be out after the Oscars and all the other award shows season is over so they can splash lots of 'Winner of...' or 'Nominated for' plaudits on the cover.

This is indeed very good, Amazon have it down as an April release. Well worth seeing although he does rant a bit in places.

Saw this earlier tonight and was mightily impressed
It deftly mixes humorous and poignant moments - IMO you won't find a better examination of Americans' absurd "obsession" with guns

Sidenote: After this I have lost all respect for Charlton Heston...

Any other thoughts?

why? he acted with a lot more grace than the pathetic barnstorming of Moore in that interview. I though that interview backfired on Moore, he spent a considerable time in Canada, with his conclusion that it is not the level of gun ownership, but American society that is the problem, but then he finishes by attacking Charlton Heston, who holds the identical view - that it isn't guns that are the problem.

I agree that Charlton Heston was polite in the interview and I think it's honourable that he accepted Moore's request to do it (unlike Dick Clark who scarpered rather than attempt to answer Moore's questions)
However I cannot believe he held those pro-gun rallies so soon after both Columbine and the primary school shootings (I admit this was the first I knew of these rallies and I was understandably shocked). It was also sad to see Heston clutching at straws and practically blaming the problems in the US on race mixing.
The film was not perfect but I admire Moore for tackling the issue head on. I agree with the IMDB reviewer (the unemployed critic) who says "Moore can be continually counted on to entertain, infuriate, and most importantly, enlighten."

Amazon, Blackstar and DVD Concept (where I got the March date from) have all changed to the April date as well. Looks like a nice early R2 release was too much to hope for :/ (although at least there'll be no waiting for the R1 in case it's better )

Now, do I watch the SVCD I've downloaded or hold on just a bit longer for the DVD...?

I've been informed by MGM that the Michael Moore documentary Bowling For Columbine will not make it to DVD on May 13. The studio is awaiting delivery of additional special feature materials and, as such, has delayed the title indefinitely. Stay tuned as more news develops on a new release date.

I keep hearing differing stories about the forthcoming 'Bowling For Columbine' DVD. Some people are saying it's been postponed indefinitely (possibly in order to add additional footage) whilst others say it's out in May. Is it the case that only the US release is delayed? People keep talking about announcements from MGM...but MGM isn't releasing 'Bowling For Columbine' in the UK, Momemtum is.

Can we therefore take it that the R2 Momentum release is now definitely set for release on 12 May whilst the R1 MGM release is still offiically postponed?

Momentum are releasing it on May 12th...no details of extras though...it must just be the R1 that is being delayed by MGM...

although its "indefinately prostponed" i would bet that it will be released pretty close to the origional release date. they cant guarentee it at the moment because of the issues with extras etc, but thats usualy just to be safe.

When you say *it's* are you talking about the Region 1 DVD or the Region 2 DVD? It seems to me that people are confusing the two. Whilst MGM in America may have postponed the Region 1 DVD has there been any announcement that Momentum is delaying the release of the Region 2 DVD? From what I've read on various websites, the Region 2 release of "Bowling For Columbine" is going ahead on 12 May. Has anyone heard anything to the contrary?
