How is this infringing on Ice T's freedom of speech? If his record label drops him because they decide he's too controversial, that doesn't stop him from shopping his talents elsewhere.

Having the right to speak one's mind doesn't obligate a corporation to provide a platform.

Ice Ts freedom of speech... Which includes lyrics of murdering policemen and sodomising 12 year old girls.

Is that the kind of freedom of speech you want to see in society?

Whether I like his lyrics or not is irrelevant. The amercian constitution protects his right to free speech as it does the right to bear arms. Heston and his ilk spout the constitution whenever anyone dares to question an american's right to own a huge arsenal of weaponry but try to blackmial companies when they release music with lyrics they don't like.

I haven't seen the stats by I imagine more people have been killed in the US by legally held guns than by listening to Cop Killer.

His right to freedom of speech does not mean a right to be published. Nothing is free and there are rules in place in any society.

Heston was supporting an American right in the first place. Until the law changes he's not the bad guy at all.

But Warner released the album as they were perfectly entitled to do under american law so your point about rules being in place is totally irrelevant.

Just because you don't like something doesn't make it illegal.

Oh and there is no refrence to sodomising 12 year old girls anywhere on the album

So a right to free speech includes a right to have Warner release a disc of your free speech - your point is stupid.

Also I would imagine more kids are killed by drugs than guns, but nobody gives John Belushi or Robert Downey Jr. a hard time.

I never said he had a right to Warner releasing the album as my posts after that original one make clear.

I really enjoyed him in the obvious movies like Ben Hur and Planet of the Apes, but also in little cameos such as Cameron's True Lies. He made an odd Mexican in Touch of Evil. Trivial Pursuits fact: he was very keen to play Indiana Jones, but of course Harrison Ford got the role. I found Heston a tad wooden, but there was no denying that he was a great star.

Dear god can you not read? Yes the song refers to sodomy but not of 12 year old girls.

You seem to be the only person in denial of this fact. Seeing as it's in there and pretty much known to the world.
