El Cid and how does this usually work...

I noticed the TBA release of El Cid in England- what is the usual time frame on something like this announcement before one should really get hopeful?

As this makes more than evident, I'm new here.

btw, anyone here have the German release of El Cid and if so are the prelude, intermission, and exit music present?

Anchor Bay UK first mentioned this April last year, but since then, not a hint of a possible release date - see this thread.

I have the recent German release which, unlike the previous German version, does include the Overture, Entr'Acte and Exit music. However it does not have the music leading up to the Intermission - it has the same abrupt cut here as do all the other versions available.

And thus the Cid rode out of the gates of history into a decent DVD.

...with a spike up his bottom, as my dad was so fond of telling me (and thus ruining the 'moment').

Criterion LD was pretty loaded. Shame they’re not doing a disc.
