She's also done some Comedy Central roasts and killed. She's funny when she does the Howard Stern show too so she has the funny gene. That doesn’t always carry through to a successful sitcom career though.

Watched the first ep of New Girl..
and won't be watching anymore.

Damon Wayans Jr really is the spitting image of his father. When I saw him in Happy Endings I thought it was his father and he had some kind of miracle stay young devil pact going on.

I did wonder how he (Damon Wayans Jr) was going to do this and Happy Endings.

The 2nd ep of New Girl was just "off" and I probably won't bother with any more as my slate is full.

I really think Whitney should be added to the thread title as, going by the pilot alone, it has the most potential.

I really enjoyed the 2nd ep of New Girl. I laughed at least 4 times.

You could always start a thread for that? I think people prefer separate threads for shows. I only put these 2 together as I saw them at the same time and both had Girl in the title!
I've not seen Whitney but I like her when she's on the roundtable on Chelsea Lately on E! She's dirty funny!

That second episode of New Girl was horrible. I'm dropping this one. Much prefer 2 Broke Girls, even the Zooey factor can't save this one.

2 Broke Girls has got the full season order from CBS.

Watched the first 3 episodes in one go, didn't think it was that bad. Feels like it should be on at 6pm on E4 (as I'm sure one day it will).

I've finally watched the first episode and it's not too bad. Few jokes and the cast aren't too bad. Definitely similar to Becker, Friends and some other sitcoms / comedies although a little more adult in places.
Will probably watch some more out of curiosity just like Mr Sunshine which wasn't fantastic but wasted 20 some minutes each week.

I'm up to date on this now and really like it. The characters work well together and some good jokes. Probably my favourite show at present.

Did have a look at the first two episodes of "New Girl" and other than Zooey looking as lovely as ever, the show really sucks.

It's a shame that 'New Girl' has a quirky, likeable (verging on loveable) lead and could-be adorable coupling with the Nick guy but is saddled with other terrible supporting characters and an inept set-up which is getting increasingly tiresome just 5 episode into the season! 'Happy Endings' proves that this kind of sitcom still works but 'New Girl' has nowhere to go because everything around Zooey falls flat.

I thought 2 Broke Girls and New Girl were both great this week. 2 Broke is really getting into it now, am a bit surprised at how far they push some of the jokes (not in a bad way). New Girl is just throwaway, inoffensive stuff that gives some laughs - really good episode this week.

Just watched a couple more episodes of New Girl and I'm liking it more. Not sure if it's just Zooey as the other characters are so-so most of the time, but the quirkiness is quite appealing.

This week's New Girl was the best yet IMO.
