Marry Me is a perfect example of how an ensemble sitcom is largely built on the likeability of its characters. You had at least an ounce of fondness for those in Happy Endings. So you'd forgive it the odd script lapse. Marry Me? One out of six, I'd say. So that's a complete **** up. And the central premise is a bit thin, not to say, Victorian.

This. The tone is very similar to Happy Endings and I only watched the Halloween ep but didn't really warm to the 'new' cast; going to get the others through catch-up and give it more of a chance. The thing that did feel weird was the beeping/censoring, I thought that there would be an uncensored version out here but apparently they beeped/censored it in the original showing. I'd almost prefer that they cut it altogether than do what they did I think.

Was going to post to say pretty much the same thing - Marry Me is exactly the result of starting with Happy Endings and taking away the great cast + characters.

Casey Wilson is absolutely great in it - essentially just Penny. Ken Marino is decent enough, but the rest are completely forgettable. We didn't make it more than a couple of episodes, just wasn't grabbing us.

As well as being hilarious, there wasn't a single bad character in Happy Endings, each one could carry a scene.

I could only manage 10 mins of Marry Me.

I hope they make more Happy Endings though.

There's a slim rumbling of a revival....

Maybe Disney+ ??

The lost episode.. youtube just served me that I'd not seen before.

^^^^

That was great fun. I still can't believe another network didn't pick it up for another season. 7 years after it ended, the cast chemistry is still there, even over zoom.

C'mon Netflix, Amazon, whoever, give us a reunion season!
