ah okay, have just bought the OC season 1 second hand.

The OC Season 1 is superb imho (and works as a single season series if you want). The rot sets in with the Season 2 prem and it's downhill all the way after that but seeing as you like the new 90210 you will probably adore The OC. Even at it's worst it's head and shoulders above anything they've done on 90210 this season.
Gossip Girl is still the best recent incarnation of all these types of shows though. It's like Josh Schwartz took everything that worked so well in The OC and made it better and learnt his lesson on what didn't work, plus the acting in GG is so much better than 90210 et al.

Urgh! A pathetic end to a dreadful first season. What the hell even happened in the final scene and why should we care, is it meant to be someone we know? (rhetorical btw, I get what happened it was just very lamely staged). This is truly one of the worst shows I think there has ever been (which is why I must keep watching it)!
It was very satisfying having everyone hate Annie, hopefully they'll continue that as we (the audience) need a simpering special to vicariously abuse and laugh at (oh how I wish I could've jumped into the screen and stamped on her head when she was on the floor picking up the pretzels). She's a totally whiny little bitch (as well as an evil felon now too). The more miserable and wretched the writers make her life next season the better! Please let her torture continue unabated! She must be punished, not only for her vehicular crime but also for her crimes against acting!

i totally didn't get the final scene, i thought she had dropped her bag and as the other car slowed i was wondering - who is in it???? IS IT DYLAN (ever hopeful)

was good/sad with adrianna, shows don't usually show that side of the story.

have enjoyed the whole season, its trashy and I LIKE IT

Melrose Place 2.0 looks like it'll be bringing the trash (and not just Asshole Simpson - ba-dum)!
BIG SPOILER for series pilot:

The series will start with Sydney Andrews (from the original Melrose Place) lying dead in the swimming pool - even though she "died" in Season 5 of the original! Flashbacks over the season will reveal what happened to her!

But yeah CJ, Liam's final scene was rather tasty! The whole show should be like that! Who needs clothes!?!

My money is on, oh god whatshisface - (you know, the guy who isn't coming back) as the body in the road! I hope this eats up Annie and she becomes a crackwhore meth addict giving handjobs for cash in the Peach Pit.
I hope the person following her is her REAL half-brother (they didn't resolve that did they, I missed a lot of episodes mid-season) and that he takes pity on her (because he's stoned, there's no other reason as sober people want to hit her) and they get into a co-dependant drug fueled sex-obssessed relationship that leads to her getting preggers with a crack-baby. AND THEN they find out they're related!

I should totally write for this show.
