The official Arrested Development USA thread
I don't think there's an AD thread yet so this is it!
I just wanted to say that CH4 are airing Some of my best friends, a sitcom that AD star Jason Bateman stared in before AD. It also stars Danny Nucci from 10-8. I hope that's not a bad omen
Two eps tonight/ early Thu 2am-3am and next week too

While I welcome the thread, I'd like to point out the fact that AD finished airing in the USA two weeks ago. Not Without My Daughter, was aired as the finale, and Let 'Em Eat Cake was held back for the second season. It was, as usual, great, and Henry Winkler was back.
I'll give that other sitcom a go; Bateman's really good in AD so maybe this other one will be worth watching for him.

Is there any news on Arrested Development being shown in the UK? I've seen a couple of episodes and it is fantastic.

Cool. I keep hearing that this isn't going to get a second series. Let's hope that's not true.

It's such a great show. Along with Scrubs it's easily the best U.S. sitcom I've seen in a long time. Additionally, Carl Weathers is a genius. "Baby you got a stew goin'!"
I really hope they bring it back for another series.

I must give special mention to the excellent two episodes with Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a blind attorney -- especially Tobias' attempt to sneak around her house without being seen! And the lovely moment of physical comedy when the dog jumps from the vet's table right into the bin. Sublime.
And yes indeed: Carl Weathers. What a guy.

The JLD stuff was great and cemented my opinion that this was the new seinfeld.
My favourite bit was when Micheal overheard Gob's girlfriend's conversation and Gob thought the spanish word for "brother" was the name of the guy she was having an affair with.
That and the running gag with the Korean kid

The proper season finale, Let 'Em Eat Cake (part one of two, with the conclusion airing as the season two premiere) aired in the US last night. It's very funny.
Roll on season two!

Didn't think much of the finale, it's been a bit below par in the final few episodes. I liked somethings, the shoddy workmanship, the "light treason" and Tobias' book (and the mock amazon page)

I really enjoyed the finale, especially Gob - although that's much like every episode.
I particularly liked the diet / Atkins theme that ran through the episode:
Michael: We'll watch it on Thursday. I'll make some popcorn.
George Michael: Popcorn? Really? Cool. Yeah to hell with Atkins huh?
Michael: Oh. Yeah. Well why blow it now? I'll fry up some bacon!
Gob and Tobias were highlights as usual. Especially Gob and his bees.

Yeah, what was that atkins thing? They acted like it'd been mentioned in a previous ep but I don't recall anything. All of a sudden they're on the atkins diet

I was just wondering when they were going to air it here.
So no idea about the Atkins thing?

I can't remember when they started on the diet, but it might have been mentioned.
The BBC Comedy website has some clips.
