Star Wars sequels to be ‘erased’ and made null and void....
What kind of madness is this?
Kathleen Kennedy not happy apparently...

Good, the sequels are almost worse than the prequels.

Does KK and RJ have any statues we can topple?
Creativity wise ditching the new force abilities is a sound idea it was becoming force unleashed ridiculous in terms of what they could do plus the forcing of KK's politics into Star wars left many with a bad taste in the moyth

They're just poor films, I don't care who made them and what their supposed agenda was. They're not original and have thoroughly forgettable characters.

TLJ was one of the three best Star Wars films "erasing" it doesn't really matter to the world in general, but do we really want the direction of the film industry decided by grown men sulking on Rotten Tomatoes?

I would say the Box Office for the 3 films was reason enough. $2b, $1.3b and then only just scraped over $1b for the last film. That's still a billion, but once you factor in production costs plus marketing costs I'd be surprised if the last film actually made a profit! Plus the failure of the Solo film didn't help either, a film that I doubt any Star Wars fan ever asked for. The only saving grace was Rogue One that turned out to be a fairly decent entry in to the franchise, but then it relied on having lots of nods back to the original film and obviously has one of the best scenes in any film ever, let along just the Star Wars films.
Also apparently they can't even give the new toy lines away, no one wants them.
The mistake Disney made was thinking they could slap the name Star Wars on anything and it would sell.

Oh noes. Whatever will we do
So long as the films aren’t actually deleted so you can’t buy them, is there any actual consequence/impact to anybody other than the uber-fan boys & girls who will get all ***** about it for one reason or another? Aka any other day in film social media.
I’m sure there’s loads going behind the scenes to try and dissect what went wrong and who’s to blame - but its not like the films tanked. I do think it goes to highlight again that you have to admire what Marvel achieved with their run of movies in terms of quality and very wide appeal whilst also keeping the fans happy. And I do think some of the Star Wars films suffered because they said “just do what Marvel did, but in Star Wars. Should be easy.”

Well, if you can't trust someone called Doomcock Overlord, who can you trust?
What a bunch of utter fanboy nonsense.

I think people are believing it because previous things he leaked all turned out to be true.

Has anyone read the comments on that piece? A viper's nest of right wing keyboard warriors threatening to kill "woke marxists" and blatant misogyny. (And I hope nobody's going to claim that describing Kathleen Kennedy as a "Glorified Secretary" isn't misogny)
Really they should remake all of the original trilogy starring Melissa Mcarthy as Lucy Skywalker just to make these people explode!

I don't see how it would fix things even if its true, the new trilogy is over, It would be confusing for some that never happened but here is the characters again from the start
The only way forward is new story, new main characters and no JJ Abrams, Kennedy or that hack who did Jurassic world 1 and 2

1. Doesn't sound massively true
2. Sounds a terrible idea if it is
The box office speaks for itself, there really isn't an appetite for endless SW films, I think SOLO proved that more than anything. Trying to constantly relive the SW films after 6 doesn't sound like box office gold to me, what are they gonna do? Keep digging out more minor star wars original trilogy people until they're all dead?

IMO this is just a gimmick and not a clever one at that. News that the sequels might be scrapped is likely to boost sales of the media copies left because they could be collector's items 25 years down the line.
Some people might believe it because of the same trick tried with the Terminator franchise.
Then someone will announce that the scrapping idea was deemed impractical by some Disney bigwig and that'll be that.

If they'd have kept the EU as canon and made the Thrawn trilogy into films, they'd be golden.
