What wall mount?

I'm about to buy a wall mount for my 65" Phillips OLED - all I want to be able to do if needed is tilt

But my research is showing me mounts that do this from £20 on Amazon all the way to to £100s from specialist shops

What's the difference? They 'look' identical apart from brand

I want security and trust in it but we all know you don't necessarily get that from paying, and I don't see anyone offering guaranteed your TV won't fall off the wall

Any help?

When we bought our 65" last year, we got this one feels really sturdy, almost like a car jack bolted to the wall, it allows tv to be moved easily in case you need to get behind. It came with an array of heavy duty screws (more like bolts) to secure it to the wall.

Does that need to be pulled out a bit (can't tell) - I want the TV as close to the wall as possible just with option of tilt

You can pull it forward to set the tilt (ours tilts down ever so slightly), then it can be pushed back pretty close to the wall.

If you look at the 4th picture down on that page you will see that the "scissor" parts are quite extended, they can go all the way back so they lie within the frame. We have ours a little forward because it sits next to a chimney breast

If you watch the video it shows how you put it all together so it shows the scissor action parts without the front panel on so it is easier to see as well.

I've a smaller version one for a 40" and it's great. The extendable feature is actually very useful to allow easy access to the cables at the back. You don't want to have to take the TV off the stand just to add in a new HDMI. With that one, you just pull it forward then push it back again.

I doubt you'd find anyone guaranteeing that it'll stay on the wall as they won't know if you're drilling into brick or just fixing it onto plasterboard with wood screws.

Yeah, to be fair I didn't really expect the guarantee, but would add confidence if someone did!

I've gone for the other highest rated one on Amazon that is tilt only and has a smaller depth footprint... Pull out isn't going to help me where it's going (apart from cables but they're all at the side)

Fingers crossed it's the right choice!
