Yes, but that's not funny.

Why even think about it? After Discovery and especially Picard it's bloody obvious that the people in charge of this new era of "Star Trek" have never watched an episode of Star Trek or understand a single bloody thing about it! Picard was Star Wars in everything but name, heck it felt more Star Wars-y than the ******* Mandalorian!
Star Wars ships have waste disposal, there, solved it!

Holodecks use transporter technology matter created from energy, so when the system is shut off you would assume that any "man" matter remaining would be converted into energy.
Holodecks have a bit of a plot hole, there is an epsiode where wesley exits the holodeck soaking wet, the water should have dissapeared leaving him dry. Dr Pulaski eats a belly full of crumpets but what happens when you leave? Is the food the holodeck produces the same and real as replicator food? filling your stomach for it to suddenly be empty can't be good for you.
Last the holodeck is a set size. if two people enter a simulation of a large field. If both walk in the same direction they would reach the end of it. BUT if one person stays by the door how does the other person get the effect of walking to the other end of a large field if their mate is not moving and what does the other guy see while this is going on his mate would not disappear into the distance. The problem is multiplied when more people enter; all going in different directions. Far better would be a matrix style approach where you go to a room and plug in and your brain is tricked into thinking its real.
Anyway I never liked the holodeck or the replicators.

I bloody hope not as I’d not want to be in there during a power cut, after all we to are “man matter”

Safety protocols, if all power is lost then the system to remove any "man paste" would also be broken.
Then its down to the poor sod with a rag and a darklight

Enjoyed the season opener. Seemed like Blade Runner after enduring S1 of Picard.

Yep, good start to the new season, though there were still a few scenes when I found myself shouting 'FFS stop crying!' at Burnham yet again...

aren't future humans in trek far more stable emotionally than modern humans? plus the vulcan self discipline thing should mean she's losing her carp all the damn time.

Apart from being generally rubbish at her job, crying seems to be her only character trait.

"something bad happens" - writers worry audience won't realise - so Burnham cries just in case anyone's in doubt

Eh? When did Burnham cry she shed a tear at the end and screamed for joy at the beginning.

She constantly looks on the verge of tears.
I think I'm done with this show, one episode in. The main character annoys me too much. I spent all but the last 5 mins thinking the show would be much better without her in it.

Really enjoyed this
I guess I’m in the “not my Star Trek” camp for the previous seasons and also, sadly, Picard.
I used to buy TNG on VHS, it was my show. I loved it and thanks to Netflix I rewatch once a year. The new shows just never sat right with me. Maybe it was the season long story, but it never felt “happy” it never felt “enjoyable”.
But I did enjoy the season 3 opener. And whilst it still retains a lot of things that I didn’t like about Season 1 and 2 it now felt far enough in future to be a proper “reboot” as such. Gives loads of scope to tell stories from the past and nod / callbacks to history
Nice teases of future tech. Removing stuff that would be familiar. Almost making the future “old” by removing things we are used to.
Proper good. And now I’m tempted to give lower decks a go

Lower Decks was great fun, especially if you're a TNG fan. Took a couple of episodes to find the tone, but I really enjoyed it.

Media bias is a fact and its going to get Trump re-elected if we are not careful.
Burnham is a big crybaby and a mary sue
NuTrek is crap
For all the talk of diversity they do with this show where are the straight white men who are not the bad guy.
