Police Story I/II ?
Still frustrating that this has not been released in the UK on Blu-Ray.
Does anyone know if there's a version on Blu-Ray with English subs — that will play on a Region B player?

Last I checked the only good version of Police Story is the Japanese Blu-ray which features a proper HD transfer but it has burned-in Japanese subtitles (they're part of the print used) and no English subs.
All other versions are reportedly very **** upscales with bad remixed audio.
Japanese Blus are also the only decent source for other classics like Hard Boiled and Drunken Master.

Yes, I think so. Check out a company called edit
I've bought a few titles from him and they've all been brilliant, with the exception of a small glitch on Hard Boiled.
You'll get multiple cuts, audio tracks and subtitles, a second disc of extras usually, and great picture.

That looks brilliant, how many titles has he released? There seems to be a physical blu-ray as well as a digital download.

At last count, there were about 7 or 8.
Off the top of my head, Wheels on Meals, Police Story, Drunken Master 2, Hard Boiled, Project A, Police Story 3: Supercop.
I bought Hard Boiled (1-disc), Supercop (1-disc) and Project A (2-disc). All took around a week to arrive, and cost me around a tenner a pop.

Given these are illegal bootlegs I am surprised people are discussing here.
On the blu-ray.com forums the moderators cracked down and now illegal to mention this company with some members getting banned for posting in praise of them.

Got mine today, it's a really nice set, with 3 different versions of each film. Just had a flick through the discs and I know people are going on about the colour grading but the little I saw looked great to me.

As I mentioned in the other thread, the colours really pop in a HDR kinda way in Police Story. I owned the previous DVD releases in the past and image and sound quality is very much improved.

Yeah they flubbed on the mono track, thought Fortune Star had sent them the original mono but instead they had given them some weird remastered mono (most likely a downmix of some ****** 5.1 remix with added foley crap) and they never QC'd it enough to notice. They're doing a disc replacement scheme soon though and I guess they will have learned their lesson when it comes to dealing with materials from Fortune Star: Check them, and check them again.
There are also audio dropouts in the Cantonese 5.1 track of PS1 as well as a few subtitle errors (basic typos) that will be corrected with the new replacements. It's possible they might replace the subtitles on the Japanese cut of PS1 as well because (long story short) they used a more accurate fan translation on the 4K HK Cut of Police Story 1 but for some odd reason (probably to save time) used an older, less accurate translation on the JPN cut.

I don't think they have made an officiail announcement yet as I think they're waiting until they have fixed everything they need to fix and then have a system in place, but they have confirmed in email replies that a disc replacement is definitely coming and someone over on Blu-ray.com enquired about what they would have to do to get a replacement and they replied with the following:
""No need to return anything. Just email through a delivery address (and proof of purchase) and we’ll add your details to our list and have the replacement sent out when they’re ready."
customer@eurekavideo.co.uk
So you can simply use that email address to get your name on the list I guess!

Make sure you mail them the shipping email from wherever you purchased from as proof of purchase unless you bought direct from them of course.
