Up to 160, people seem to think it sounds interesting, can you tell how many people have bought it and how many have read it?

So far things are going pretty well! According to Amazon KDP tracker for freebie copies:
Friday: USA: 265, UK: 156
Saturday (so far): USA: 105, UK:315
For Amazon.co.uk for the free books charts, it's #6 in Science fiction, #2 Dystopia and #2 post-apocalyptic. #82 in the whole store
For Amazon.com for the free books charts, it's #17 in Science fiction, #12 Dystopia and #11 post-apocalyptic. #473 in the whole store
HDUK is 193 currently!
As for which campaign did what, I guess that will become a bit more apparent later.
Unfortunately there's no way to know who actually reads any of it, but hey at least I got it on their Kindle!
The promotion is running until Sunday but the main advertising spammer I paid is only until tonight, so it will be interesting to see what carries over.

I think the HUKD crowd is actually pretty big and I'm sure lots of people have added it, most will get round to reading it as well. I guess the reviews will tell a fair bit.

It must be great to know that a few hundred people have downloaded it and hopefully you'll got some more positive reviews out of the whole process. Well done.

Will also be good to get to the top in just one of the categories, so you can proclaim "Number #1 Bestseller!!"
I read a while ago that this is why there are so many : genre > subgenre
Can add your book to any little-used niche categories ?

I think it went up to #40 at one point today, but I was out dressaging and my phone signal wasn't good enough to load the charts page to get a screenshot.
Then again; in your face, Tolstoy!

I'm just getting the data together for my blog, but here's the headline summary below:
So all in all, pretty good considering it's brand new and not many people have had heard of it! The UK bias is quite interesting, which may be due to a) more reviews b) it's set in the UK c) the UKHotDeals effect or d) a combination of all of them.
The promotion company guaranteed at least 1,100 downloads so I managed to surpass that (although it's difficult to work out what % was actually from them). For huge download numbers I'd have to get on BookBub, but they are very selective and demand quite a few 5* reviews before consideration.
For the Amazon free books charts it peaked at #2 Dystopia / Post Apocalyptic, #3 in all of Science Fiction and #40 in the whole kindle store at various points.
A huge thank you to everyone here on the Forums in helping spread the word and your encouraging feedback, and to rbullivant especially for putting it up on UKHotDeals. For the Forums-specific link I got 35 downloads from the threads here and 11 more direct links according to bitly.
So what happens next? Probably not much (I doubt I'm suddenly going to become JK Rowling-rich or have Ridley Scott on the phone), but it was an exciting roller coaster of a few days of chart and downloads watching! At the very least my work has now reached more people than it would have done previously, and hopefully they'll enjoy it and recommend it to others.
I have the paperback version to sort out now, do some reviews for other people, complete Witcher 3 (that's probably first on the list tbh) and then it's on with writing book 2!
I've put my book at 99p for a day to catch any stragglers then it's back up to £1.99
Taq

Well done, I'd be very happy if I got those figures. To think that more than 1500 people have downloaded your work and hopefully most of them will read it.
I guess we'll see if there are more reviews on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com over the coming month or two.

Thanks! And thanks again for your review - I'm sure it helped!
According to 'the internet' I should expect about a 1% review return on freebies (maybe), so that's another 15 or so with any luck.

I've read all sorts of books in my life and had products, I think I've reviewed about six things. One was a DVD recorder incorrectly labelled as MR, another was the West Wing Six Season Set which implied it was the complete set, but I pointed out there was another season.
I've reviewed a few books, mostly for people I know, but I've read a lot, but don't readily write a review.
