Whilst they were indeed impressive last season, at no point did anyone look like making any sort of a challenge or decent run. They just jostled around looking for a CL space. Hopefully someone will keep them honest.

Hopefully a lot more teams will actually bother to turn up against them this season.

Liverpool, United, Wolves, Wigan and a couple of European teams have all shown recently that City are far from invincible. Half the problem is that too many sides accept they have lost before they even leave the changing room

Just back to point out.....

£500+ million revenue a year
4 years of self sufficiency and zero input from the owner...

And on top of that, some stunning football

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan of the Abu Dhabi ruling family has spent more than £1.3bn directly investing into Manchester City since he took over in 2008, the club’s latest accounts have stated.

That fortune has been in addition to the £150m Mansour is understood to have paid City’s then owner, Thaksin Shinawatra, to buy the club, taking the total spent by Mansour to more than £1.45bn.

During the year to 30 June, in which the club registered a record £500.5m turnover and a profit of £10m as Pep Guardiola’s team swept to the Premier League title, Mansour nevertheless invested a further £58m in return for new shares.

Reflecting that making a profit four years in a row “may well have been rejected as fanciful by some commentators” years ago, Mubarak said: “We have not diverted in any way from our strategy for on-field success within a commercially and financially sustainable organisation.”

The annual report does, however, state: “Manchester City football club is reliant on its ultimate parent undertaking, Abu Dhabi United Group Investment and Development Ltd, for its continued financial support.” As evidence of Mansour’s support, the report states that it has amounted to “more than £1.3bn over the last 10 years”.
Doesn't sound totally self-sufficient (or zero-input!), but you're right about the football.

Does that include not getting other companies they also own to sponsor them?

yeah missed that bit about Mansour's extra shares. I can only guess they didn't go into the Man City side but rather the CFG side.

On that note, CFG is now valued at over $3bn

Whilst I'm only just old enough to remember Colin Bell's last few years in a City shirt, so can't really judge, surely David Silva must be our best ever player? Another majestic performance from Merlin.

At least Colin Bell wasn't bought with blood money.

And your losses are Hilarious! Long live Mourinho!

The irony is delicious watching someone accuse a team of buying victories when the team they support proves money cant buy victories.
