It's not all positive though - seems like Phil Foden has ligament damage.

Just as drugs enable cyclists & athletes to go above & beyond their normal performance, pumping un earned money into teams, thus enabling them to go above & beyond their normal positions, will be looked upon in the same way.

What is your solution? Some sort of US style revenue sharing system where everyone earns the same?
Or do you mean that Man Utd should just be allowed to spend more? Based on some odd notion that they can afford it? Even though they're drowning in debt.

The notion of 'financial doping' aside, there should be a retrospective ban on buying a club by mortgaging it against itself.
The Glaziers should be made to repay the debt in its entirety, albeit over a few years. I don't know how it was ever legal in football.
As for "drowning I'm debt", hardly. The repayments are being comfortably met every year. It still leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

I think every football club has been propped up by some benevolent chairman with deep pockets at some point.

Just a different era. I remember Jack Walker buying the title at Blackburn by chucking Ł10m at them, Clough at Derby, etc.

In a way, glad the 'winning streak' was broken - hopefully it might take some of the pressure off, and allow city to play a bit more fluidly. Of course, there's still the unbeaten streak to protect, but let's see how it pans out..

Yes, despite our vast resources and squad, we may be tested now that we may face a few games without De Bruyne, Silva and Jesus. Not even seen the highlights of the last two games as I've been away, but it appears that goals have been hard to come by over Xmas.

Took a while to get back in after the password resetting a while back!.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42551938
David Silva missing matches were down to his son being born extremely prematurely and is fighting for his life.
Fingers crossed for the Silva family.
Gotta note the spot on quote from Pep.
"I would never push him. If we drop points because he is not with us, so be it - family is everything and must come first."

That's sad news, thoughts for him and his family.
Is there any word on exactly how premature?
Hopefully they are in somewhere like St Mary's, as the care they provide is excellent.

He's doing well to play any games in a situation like that.
Thoughts are with him and his family.

Leroy Sane
Some sloppy mistakes from various players today, but job done.
I've seen Zinchenko play a couple of times in the last few weeks and I think that he looks a solid player - tidy passing, some good interceptions and some great work with Sane and Silva today. Not sure where he'd fit in long term as he's not a proper left-back and he usually plays as an attacking midfielder. But if he's happy to hang around in a Milner/Delph utility role, he could be very useful.

Its been very quite on that front but the fact that Silva has been about would suggest he's getting better *crosses fingers*

Interesting read about Zinchenko that also covers an injury to Fernandinho earlier in his career that I didn't know about :-
