Great win today, especially as I feared the worst when they scored early in the second half. Lucky that Song's goal didn't stand, but held on well at the end and should have really made it more comfortable at the end barring some excellent saves from Adrian.
Now to make it three in a row against Southampton on NYD who will be without Schneiderlin, yet still won't be an easy game at all.

Although I didn't think West Ham looked particularly threatening, being Arsenal I felt sure that we'd live to rue those missed opportunities. As for Song's goal, I think that if you step over the ball then you are interfering with play. Keeper has to think he's going to get a touch on it. Anyway, two hard fought wins lifts the spirits

So Cavani then
Recent years have led me to suspect that this deal might actually come off, for the simple reason its not what we really need!

Carvalho might be more likely, with Sporting *apparently*willing to accept 20 million. Although as he's a DM, it probably won't happen

It probably will happen but Wenger will then play him as striker or something.

Well that was a **** start to 2015. Szcz has a couple of good performances & it seems to go to his head. Woeful today.

New Year, same old problems. Can't compensate for such awful defending in what was already likely to be a tricky away game. Paid the ultimate price for Giroud's stupidity in having to start Alexis, who is looking tired as can be expected.
Next couple of Premiership games aren't exactly ideal fixtures. Stoke at home and City away. Hopefully some reinforcements will be in by then.

One year it might happen early! Guess it depends if anyone is coming back from injury. Arteta was meant to be back for today I believe.
Quite a shocking stat that we haven't won three in a row in the league yet this season.

With Wenger saying only a couple of weeks ago that if all his defenders were fit he wouldn't need to bring in anyone else.

Very happy with that performance and result. True, Hull offered absolutely nothing, but at 1-0 I still expected us to go and Arsenal it up Sanchez brilliant again but needs a rest, Coquelin very good (one bad tackle aside) & a good workout for Theo.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Alexis rested against Stoke, as long as Welbeck is back. Giroud's back from suspension now.

Podolski has gone to Inter on loan, I expect this to be turned into a permanent move in the summer, I suspect there will be more leaving before anyone comes in, but I have this scary feeling that we are gonna leave it too late and have to wait for the summer to replace any that we lose

Rumours that Sanogo and (or) Campbell could be loaned out as well if Wenger can find premier league clubs to take them. Whilst it would be good to see both players get more playing time can't help but think that could leave us a little light for cover. I would imagine Wenger is thinking that with Sanchez, Walcott, Giroud & Welbeck he had plenty of cover.

Depends if you play 4231 then yes lots of cover, however I have been very encouraged by the 433 formation recently and that would leave us up **** creek

So our last away trip in the FA Cup is now our next one too. Brighton could be tricky if seen as a chance to rest players, but could have been worse. Half expected to draw City given they were still there when we were drawn near the end.
And in other news, Szczesny has been fined for smoking in the showers after the Southampton game. Hope it doesn't mean Ospina starts against Stoke as that's the last game you want to throw an inexperienced (in the Premiership) keeper in to.

The more I think about it the less confident I am that we will sign anyone in this window, except for maybe one token signing (Perrin?)
With the return of so many people from injury I suspect Wenger will be happy to make do, throw in how well Coquelin has been doing (even if he is giving Flamini a run for him money in the yellow card stakes) I think Wenger will be satisified with Arteta/Flamini/Diaby/Coquelin, the irony is I think all fours contracts are due to expire in the summer!
I expect one of Sanogo or Campbell to go out on Loan and that be the only business of January.

Good so far, very good performance. A bit worried about our fullbacks being duffed up however....
