I can't see them finishing in the top four with all these draws, they need to start putting a few wins together. I thought Ruud Gullit called it right on Match Of The Day, he said if Arsenal started the game playing like they do when they go one behind, then they might win a few. They'll going to have to hit the ground running against Chelsea.

It's the kind of run that can go either way. A couple of losses and it looks shocking, follow it up with some wins and it's all good. Our lack of killer instinct has been frustrating but it's certainly nice to know they have character. Not expecting much out of Chelsea away though. Let's just hope we can keep it below 6.

And in other news injury-wise, Ramsey out for a month and Arteta out for three weeks. Wilshere should be back for Chelsea though.

Don't particularly want to be negative Nancy here but we'll get thumped by Chelsea :-( gonna try and avoid the game I think! It's just gonna make me sad.

Ref wasn't much better, Sanchez was badly hurt with a two footed challenge that should have got the Turk a Red card, but only a yellow was given.

Superb stuff tonight, much, much better. Only Szczeny sending off stopping us from getting a few more imo. Disgraceful challenge on Alexis, red card every time. Our front three looked dangerous all night long.

Obviously won't be anywhere near as easy against Chelsea, but if that same front three plays and clicks, they'll cause trouble for anyone. Not to mention how fast it'll be once Walcott comes back.

How we all feeling about today then? Pretty much every Arsenal fan I know expects absolutely nothing from the game, and I'd have to agree sadly...

Draw would be a good result.

A draw would have been lovely I was fearing a cricket score, so on that count I'm relieved, we played much better (obviously) than last season & yes, Cahill should have been sent off & Wilshere should have scored at 0-0, but in truth we just weren't good enough, Chelsea were better & Hazard was considerably better! Amazed that Ozil didn't come off (perhaps even at half time). Sanchez worked his ******** off again (although partially responsible for the first goal), Wilshere grew into the game after a dodgy first 20 mins, Welbeck had zero service & Chambers has picked up a ban... after just 7 games

If Cahill should have gone (and he should) then Welbeck should have too.

Wouldn't argue with that. Chambers lucky to get away without a second yellow too.

Quite simply, at the moment, Chelsea are a better team than us. But we kept it tight defensively and were well-organised, just undone by two moments of magic (Cesc had to do *something*). We didn't click offensively, with Ozil having another game to forget and Welbeck well-marshalled.

Apparently this is now our second-worst start to a season under Wenger. Hopefully with Theo back after the int'l break, we can get a run going and turn the early season draws into wins.

Don't know how Ozil never got hooked, instead of Cazorla and Wilshere.

I thought OC would have come on for Ozil, to inject some pace into the game.

Think every Arsenal fan was baffled by that. Only possible explanation is that Wenger wanted to keep the three up top the same, meaning someone in the midfield three had to be sacrificed.

Ozil ruled out for 10-12 weeks with a knee injury...

Quote:
he arrived at the German camp with a problem in his left knee and an MRI scan in Munich on Wednesday showed damage to the knee joint.

Isn't it Wenger that always plays players in the 'red zone' when they should be rested...?

Something's happening, but then again, it's been like this for a few years! Hard to believe Wenger would have kept him on for the full 90 against Chelsea if there were any indication of trouble.

Slowly but surely, even our midfield riches are looking a bit slim!
