My 2nd PS3 has just died
It lasted 4-5 years (after the 2 years of the 1st) and it was a refurb so I can't complain but I have a problem... I can't get my disk out!
What good PS3 deals are about right now, I don't need a BC model this time and I could stick my old 500gb HDD in so I'm not worried about size but I don't want a superslim as the top won't so easy to access?

I wanna new one... £130 for a 12gb SS at Game + £6-7 for a caddy or £165 for a 500gb SS from Gameseek... might as well go for the latter.
Anyone found anything better?

Why, my son has a super slim and it seems to do everything a old style slim does?

Unlucky, mate.
My old PS3 didn't die, but my daughter saw fit to put 3 (yes, 3) discs in there all at once.
You can turn the console upside down, remove the plate nad use a screwdriver to slowly eject the disc. Worked for me first time. Have you tried this, T4V?

Neither of those options work I'm afraid I have a 60gb BC Phat and it doesn't do the Fan cycle mode.
OK so where can I find Slim stock?

I think you'll be lucky to find a new (old) slim in stock at a reasonable price

Best I can find slims for at the moment is £290 for a 320gb. As much as I'd prefer one, I'm not going that high.

I dont want a 2nd hand one. As for the 12gb supersilm, the 500gb is only about £30 more and my current 500gb is older than my dead PS3

Can you not fix yours? Is it just an overheating issue causing the standard blinking lights and beeping? If so they are easy to fix with guides off Youtube and a simple kit bought off eBay. Took me less than an hour with no experience doing it before.

My finger is hovering over the buy button for a PS4, what games would I get in PSN+ if I got it in the next week or so?

If you buy today you'll get Dead Nation but that's getting changed to Mercenary Kings tomorrow.
If you've got PS+ (or buy it today) you can get both and just add them to your account through your browser

My friend is trying to convince me to get a PS4 for MLB The Show 14 but i'm finding it hard to get enthusiastic about it, not many games i'm desperate to play that aren't out on PS3.

I do have a PS+ 12 month code to redeem but for some reason the Sony website says This Prepaid Card cannot be redeemed on a PC which is a bugger as means I miss out on Dead Nation

If you really want dead nation you could probably buy a month or so membership via the PSN website, but it's not the best value. Or maybe the 14 day free trial is enough?
