I think it's not an unrealistic figure given the hardware. I certainly don't think it'll be less than £500.
It won't be getting fulfilled on too many Xmas lists at that price tho!

I saw this report on HUKD but the product listing said it was for a 2TB machine. Isn't the base model a 1TB machine because I'm sure I recall Sony banding around a storage figure of 825GB allowing for the operating system etc. Surely that's got to knock a bit off the price.

Yeah, I don't believe that there is a 2tb sku. I saw the thing on hukd but I think it's guff
(as far as a mate who works at PlayStation knows there is only one sku, but he doesn't work in that division so isn't certain)

From what I've read there was also a 1TB sku listed by Amazon for the same price. Neither of them match the 825GB that was officially announced, unless the 825GB is just the useable portion of an overall 1TB drive.

For me I’ve always preferred functionality over form, a big square box over a shape but you have to say it’s .... brave*

Even if I never use the Blu-ray drive, I’ll still have that over the “Digital edition”

I really like the design of the console, albeit the cooling solution is going to have to be magical for it not to be another super loud Sony special, in that sleek case.

None of the games wowed me really other than Horizon Forbidden West and Resident Evil Village.

I see GameSpot are already proclaiming it to have been all "in game" footage when there was actually just as little actual gameplay as in Microsoft's reveal last month.

I mean, I don't care what it looks like, it'll be hidden in my unit anyway, but man... Whatever they spent designing that over a box like ms is totally wasted imho!

As they're releasing GTA5 for a third time, I guess a potential GTA6 is a long time off then. Although I just noticed they say expanded. Are they implying a bigger world?

It does look like wi-fi router but the design looks ok, would be better in black

Its funny its getting a hard time over the case when the xbox series X is just ugly xbox and the xbox one first model is just even more ugly box. More interested if its quiet unlike my ps4. edit at the end of the day most people put their consoles under the tv. good they are doing a digital only version for those who want that but don't expect it cheaper (like the fanboys on the internet are expecting)


Some interesting games shown, apart from GTA5 re-re-released again and that furry dinosaur game. lot of the other games looked great - little devil and Ghostwire: Tokyo to name 2. Some games are far away like pragmata(?) which is fine

Design is ok, still just about the exclusives for me so will be sticking with Sony again, not sure I'll be buying on release though, if the price is £500+ wont be upgrading for a while, Little Devil & Horizon both look great, don't need another remaster of GTA.....

the only reason gta5 is on ps5 and no doubt series x is for gta online, gotta milk the cows for every drop (they will shut down the servers for this gen version to get suckers... errr I mean consumers to upgrade)

Also Godfall looked generic but with slightly better graphics. that trailer was **** and really didn't fit the game

Not that interested in Godfall, don't know why just not that fussed about this generation of hardware.

I don't think I've seen anything for an immediate upgrade yet
And I'll be going Xbox first I think purely for Game Pass... Imho that's where the real battle will be fought this gen (esp once Xcloud is up and tied in)

PS still has the handle on the exclusives tho

Given people drop £750+ on a phone i think this will be a lot more expensive than people think.

I'll wait until they come to their senses and do it in black.
