We just seemed to lack venom and killer instinct. No one was desperate to drive at their defence but just happy to stroke it about and strut like we had won the game.

We lacked desire that Palace had in spades and its very disappointing considering we have a lot to play for.
Walker is a good outlet for us but defensively he has never been brilliant.
I like Chiriches as he seems to be better at crossing and with the ball than the proper fullbacks.

We have been linked with a loan for Rabiot who is at PSG.
Not sure what he will add. I would like to see a top class CF but sure we will just get Rodriguez.

There will need to be players out before any come in. Quite frankly I'd be happy to lose at least half the squad and try some of the youth players. The likes of Kane, Mason and Bentaleb by and large have adapted to the new methods and probably have a bit less of an 'ego' about them having fought to get into the first team, Vejlkovic and Ceballos seemed decent enough in preseason etc.

I don't see why Rose gets on ahead of Davies either, I think Davies is much more reliable and a more natural defender, it's not as if Rose is deadly in attack down the left to justify overlooking his defensive frailties. That being said, Dembele and Stambouli didn't offer them much protection or cover.

Agree we missed Mason today, in the same way we would've missed the Sandro of two or three seasons ago.

Dembele looked strong in possession and going forward but not necessarily the best covering player, Chadli didn't have a great game, certainly nowhere near the last few performances.

Time to admit defeat on Soldado and fill his and Adebayors positions with new signings ?

Pretty sure he is out of there. Apparently the story goes that he had a go at Kane...Kaboul, Capoue and Lennon were on Adebayors side and everyone else against them hence his banishment and the others demotion for the most part

I think it was a case of not following instructions from Pochettino, not willing to change ways and Levy is backing his manager by trying to offload them.

I wonder if anyone will take BAE!

Apparently we have accepted 5m for Naughton from Swansea. Seems good business as he shouldnt be anywhere near the first team unless we have a raft of injuries. Never really made the step up.
Read somewhere they can buy Carroll for 5m too. Think that would be a mistake as I have always liked him, a neat and tidy passer. Always hoped he will come back and step up into the team. Mason has shown there is hope.

Bit of a difference with Mason though, high intensity, decent passing, good pressing and willing to go forwards all the time. Not something I have seen from Carroll albeit on a limited basis, he seems a bit too 'safe' in possession which we already have.

Given we have ample backup at RB then it would make sense to let Naughton go even though he is arguably the best at defending!

So, we got rid of Gomes and now we have Vorm.

Looking at todays results, you'd have to wonder about 'unusual betting patterns'.

When was the last time so many at the top of the top league, all lost, playing at home, to 'inferior' opposition ?

Its a missed opportunity but we have been playing a lot of a games. Wasnt convinced as soon as I saw Rose and Kaboul in our lineup.
At least its happened early. Need to concentrate on our league form as its all to play for. Lets hope we can get a run going and finish the season strongly. A league cup would be nice.

Dunno, think we will have to close our eyes! Still better to have a chance than let them walk over Sheffield United for an easy trophy.
Its frustrating that a week after we let a home lead slip in the last 10 mins we repeat the mistake of trying to play a game out at 1-0 and sit back. I thought Poch made a mistake to leave on Mason and Stambouli when they both had yellows. We needed a bit more energy.
Rumours of Ade going out to PSG or QPR on loan. Hopefully we can bring in one or two hungry fresh faces. Could do a lot worse than bring Holtby back.

We need to push on in the league now and try to keep in touch. Arsenal have strengthened so we are battling the likes of Utd and Southampton for the last place.

Pretty sure that Holtby is gone, it's just a formality providing he agrees to it from what I have read I.e fee is agreed following the loan. I do like him, excellent work rate and attitude but not a great deal of end product... something Eriksen and now Chadli have added. Lamela needs to do something between now and the end of the season otherwise he needs replaced too.

Think this will be a case of trimming the fat, Lennon sounds like he is as good as gone and actively trying to find buyers for Kaboul and Chiriches.... Hopefully Roma getting money for Destro will make them send some our way!

Yep, both are certainly in a rich vein of form and its a good confidence builder after the midweek squeak over the line.

Lets hope we can get 4 points or more, from our next two big league games.
