No BAE at all today? Vertonghen at LB? Hmm.

HT 1-1. Think we're more than capable of going on to win this. Well on top at times.

Charlie Adam is still a grade A tosspot.

Stage 1 complete! Come on Wigan!

My nerves are shredded. We really are leaving it close to the edge.

Any chance Krul will be back next week? You just know Newcastle are going to get Fulop in on an emergency loan!!!

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

Great performance today especially second half. We just kept going which was good to see. 69 points with one more to go.

Still don't think it'll be enough but oh for a Wigan result of any description on Tuesday!

Im strangely optimistic that Wigan or Newcastle will get something. But if they dont we will have done all we can and its been a good season. Feel like Fulham at home was where we lost the momentum.
Hopefully we can win at home against Sunderland to get 72 points and that is better than last year.
Think Verthongen looked a bit unhappy at LB and I know he has said he doesnt like playing there. Expect BAE to be sold if AVB doesnt like him.

Wondering whether I can stand to watch the game on Tuesday. Feel like everytime I tune in to watch them they get lucky. Might just listen on the radio!

BAE is clearly on his way but he remains our best LB at the mo, Vertonghen is too slow and Naughton is too crap.

Hudd had an ok-ish game but Parker was bad again. Playing him as anything other than a stopper in front of the back 4 is a waste of time. As one of the higher earners I expect he may move on and hopefully we sign someone more capable of covering Sandro and Dembele (who added a lot when he came on but is generally poor when not 100% fit)

Not convinced that Dempsey should be anything more than a sub but he was our best player, smart movement to get a few chances, goal and assist.

Have always liked Wigan, really hoping for something now but I just can’t see them stemming the Arsenal attack.

No doubt they'll get to the 90th minute level & we'll all be feeling pretty happy but then they'll understandably go & throw everyone up front, keeper and all to get the winner, only to concede from an Arsenal counter.

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

Not wishing to be a negative ninny but it's all over isn't it? Obviously down to Sunday now - we beat Sunderland and arsenal have to win at SJP. Hmm.

Don't see them not winning sadly. Can easily see us struggle top break down Sunderland.

Neither NE team have to play to survive now. A help and a hindrance.

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

According to f365's gossip page, some Spanish radio station has said that David villa is more or less a done deal and AVB has persuaded him to come.

Also rumour of a bid for an under 21 Croatian striker, ante rebic.

Dont want Villa. Hes 31, not really suited to playing lone striker and would want massive wages.
Im sure we can find a top quality hungry striker who isnt going to cost the earth.

Re Sunday I was fairly hopefully they would give the gooners a game before I read Pardew said he doesnt care if he loses 4-0. Terrible management.

We just have to win our game and hope they revert to last season when they were chasing 4th rather than the rubbish they have been this year. Anything can happen but the media seem to think its destined for a playoff. Bit disrespectful to us and Newcastle. Lets hope they use it as a motivating tool if 50k geordies arent.

Retirement home for ex footballers aren't we. 31 year old crock on a few million a year? No thanks.

Notice that Bent always, always gets a goal when it's 100% esential that we score. I think we motivate him.

Not too arsed about the CL, although I really don't want to see us in the Europa again. It's in Arsenal's hands but I can see them losing and us losing as well.

Win-Win situation for Levy, Qualify make a fortune, Don't qualify sell Bale and make a fortune, He's to blame for Spurs not getting Champions League for being to tight to buy a striker at the start of the season or in January

and without wanting to be accused of trolling I thought Arsenal celebrations were pretty embarrassing at the end

They were embarrassing, but it would have been no different if you flipped the outcome.

Two clubs with no prospect of winning anything worthwhile in the foreseeable. Grab the 'glory' opportunities when they arise.

Recort points and progress across the season but mid of Hudd Parker Dempsey is very mid table. We aren't realistically going to catch up with the big spenders, playing for 4th is as good as it gets but likely to be two steps back as can't see Bale fancying another stint in the europa
