Don't fancy our chances, we always seem to get shafted at the bridge, keeping Mata, Hazard (if fit) and Oscar quiet will be too big a task for our midfield, as it proved in the game at the lane.
Team news:
Spurs: Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Huddlestone, Parker, Holtby; Adebayor, Bale
Chelsea: Cech; Azpi, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cole; Ramires, David Luiz; Oscar, Mata, Hazard; Torres

So once again we have to score at least 3 to win...
Really poor defending for defending for both goals. Can we petition to ban corners?

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013
Huddlestone is looking ponderous as usual and BAE has his head in the hairdressers. Everyone needs to be alert with their Ł150m midfield and attack buzzing about but that isn't happening.
Our goal was uncharacteristic but we have been getting into good positions at times. Need an early goal to get back into it.

Really thought we were going to nick it in the end! We're still in it somehow but need massive favours. Who would have thought Ade would be our MOTM??

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013
It's going to be a nervous couple of games for everyone now. I think Chelsea are safe due to goal difference though obviously providing they win one of their matches.

Definitely. We'd have to hope Chelsea get 1 point from 6 which is pretty unrealistic.
I think it'll boil down to us getting maximum and praying for Newcastle to be up for it. Can't see Wigan doing the Houdini act this season I'm afraid after yesterday so I'm really not expecting anything from them.

Jeez Souness was winding me up there.... can't believe that someone didn't highlight that yes we could win both our games and not make it but you can't call it a bad season if we've set our highest ever PL points total & probably our best return on 38 games in 25+ years... Jamie must have been under the desk trying to protect his dads name or something.
Edit: I should add Glenn faired no better in his defence that this squad was weaker than LYs. I mean I don't entirely agree but instead of saying Sigurdsson, Holtby & Dempsey aren't good enough he should have been highlighting the near impossible task of replacing Modric, VdV & King - plus Kaboul out all season & Sandro for 5 months.
Anyhoo it is out of our hands now but if we do beat Stoke to take it to the last day, Newcastle have enough quality to get a point at home. My Gooner mate doesn't know what to think atm, he's still clinging to the hope that Stoke can get relegated AND Arsenal qualify...

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013
Whatever happens come the end of the season it won't be a complete failure, yes massively disappointing if we miss out on top 4 but there was a rebuilding of sorts following the departures of the aforementioned players who have been absolutely vital to the way we played over recent seasons. No way to know of course but VdV probably would have got a lot of vital goals which may have been the difference in recent games.
It's a bit of a cop out as we should have really have put away teams that we lost to such as Wigan and Fulham which spring to mind, perhaps if Levy would have backed the manager in getting a striker we have obviously needed for quite some time then the blame can lie at the managers door. I don't think he has done a stellar job by any means but it has been interesting so far to say the least!
Fingers crossed for 6 points in the last two games and for Lady luck to be kind to us.

Generally a good result and obviously not the one that has cost us over the season but the gap in class was quite clear and they had much better chances.
I’ve always felt our first team would be right up there, it’s once you have Hudd, Parker (who is obviously finished) and a half fit Lennon V Mata, Hazard and Oscar that the lack of depth shows. Ade was absolutely immense, not just for the goals but general movement and hold up play. Holtby has potential but still looks to be adjusting, Sig showed that he should be starting ahead of him as a central attacking midfielder.
Can’t see the goons dropping points, that Chelsea result at Old Trafford is the real killer as they have two tough remaining fixtures.
After an awful start, (those are the dropped points plus the Wigan and Fulham home games that you really pinpoint) I’d have taken this position in what was always going to be a transition season. Am weirdly optimistic on next season (not if Bale leaves but I get the weird feeling he’ll give us one more season). Replace BAE and swap at least 2 of Hudd/Parker/Livermore for a more convincing cover in central midfield and we should be much more competitive across a season.

You're forgetting Modric and VDV were the core of that team's creativity, along with Bale.
You're also forgetting when he played Crouch, which was a lot in our CL qualification season there was a lot of hoofing the ball up for VDV to score from knock downs.

Personally I don't think The Board/Levy have supported AVB enough, I think everyone knows we needed help up front as we were severely lacking in strikers

I thought it was a good game between two teams with good players but shocking organisation. We were well on top second half till Hazard went off and then we couldn't manage to pass the ball accurately over 5 yards. Was impressed with Adebayer. He was massive for both your goals.

He was, but once a season isn't enough.
As for AVB, I have nothing against him. He's competent. I prefer an old school British manager personally but the game is changing and that's that. Personally I really have next to no interest in the game anymore. I can't help myself but to watch Spurs games but I have no intention of attending games anymore. Not while we are part of this Premier League pantomime. Overpriced, underwhelming and alienating. Really not bothered whether we get into the Champions League either. Just hate the fact that the game has been hijacked in this country. The Germans have got it spot on.

Totally agree with the last part of that post. I'm trying to rekindle my love of the game some how for next season. Been offered a coaching role with a mates kids team which I'm tempted to take up to see if that helps.
