Im thinking if we win the next two games against Wigan and Southampton then we are in a good place.
I can see both the Gooners and Chelski dropping points. We would then need a draw at the Bridge. Think we would probably lose to Stoke to leave a nervous last day where we will contrive to lose out on goal difference!

Whilst I would rather play Wigan and Stoke etc than the better sides, we have probably got a worse points record against them than top 4 or 5 overall. Off top of my head, dropped points already to Wigan, Newcastle, Fulham, Norwich…beat Arsenal, ManU and ManC.
The ideal would be mid-table teams who aren’t going to have as much to play for, Sunderland look like giving everyone a good game at the moment, Southampton and Wigan are relatively poor overall but can attack teams well. Stoke are just a nightmare to play against but hopefully they are safe by then and not quite as willing to put their bodies on the line.
We are in as good a position as we could realistically have hoped for, but does just show how vital Sunday’s win was.

Holtby looked better too, plus the return of Lennon and Defoe (as well as Bale). At least we can't blame injuries if we cock it up from here on in.

We have been without our best CB from last season and also about half of this season without Sandro who really was fundamental to the way we played at the start of the year. Include Defoe and Adebayor who have been unavailable for large portions of the season and I think we have coped quite well - what it surely has proven is that we cannot abide another season with so few strikers so hopefully the purse strings are loosened a bit.

Good to see that Aaron Lennon was back in training with the 1st team yesterday, not sure if he'll be available for Wigan tomorrow. Already nervous about this one, fingers crossed we can get a result.

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013
Im slightly apprehensive, Wigan traditionally come good with big results at this point in the season and it's a prefect banana skin for us after doing all the hard work against City last week. Can only hope that Wigan attack to leave gaps for us to exploit as we don't seem capable of breaking teams down and otherwise rely on howitzers from Bale.
I wonder if Huddlestone will be rewarded with a start after last week's performance?

Wigan could do the double over us! I have a little bit of a bad feeling about it but I reckon we'll have a 'Swansea' type away game and win, say, 2-1.
Hopefully we'll see Vertonghen's Superman celebration.

Yes, yes he will: Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Naughton; Dembele, Huddlestone, Parker; Dempsey, Defoe, Bale.
Friedel, Assou-Ekotto, Caulker, Carroll, Holtby, Lennon, Sigurdsson on the bench.

Where is Greedybayor (not that I am particularly worried)? I would have went for Huddlestone instead of Parker, presume they will be in the centre together with Dembele further forward.

Dembele crocked I'm hearing? Hope we get Lennon on in the 2nd half.

Watching Soccer Saturday, Spurs the better team, looking more likely to score .... Wigan now 2 -1 up

Dembele went off holding his hamstring by the looks of it. He's been as effective as the rest of the team in the second half so far.

I've no idea how Jordi Gomez has stayed on the pitch.

That was close at the end.
All too predictable though.

They certainly weren't in the 2nd half. Wigan were all over you.

I wouldn't say that. They defended and broke occasionally. We just couldn't create anything with all the possession.
Once again, we shouldn't have to score 3 to win! Defensively were as unsound as we have been in years. You can't let teams fighting for their lives get ahead and then just cried behind the ball.
