While it hurts our own European ambitions for next season, always good to see City imploding

Good result. Would prefer that the games were not played and that City were expelled from all competitions but this is the second best option.

Lovely to see Boas out-smarting Mancini.

All credit to AVB for that one. Perfect subs and an unbelievable result!

Goodbye Emmanuel, hello Jermain.

Holtby shows the kind of qualities I want to see.

Thud looked class and pretty composed.

All in all, a step in the right direction.

Great second half and subs by AVB. The Hudd came on and bossed it, made some great passes and Holtby was snapping at their heels. JD, boy we have missed him with a great finish. Now if Utd can do us a favour next week there is all to play for.

Ade makes me sick with his lack of effort. Please just leave him out of the squad.

Have constantly defended Ade but no more, effort atrocious today and can't justify him being our highest paid player. Hudd offers a bit more attacking threat than Parker at the moment, did very well and hopefully starts next game ahead of him.

Dempsey and Sig were poor really, Lennon back for one of them and we can have more quality in final third, reliant on Bale as usual today who was clearly not fully fit.

Thought all defenders did well, particularly Walker and BAE who have been erratic this season.

In our own hands but sadly the others seem on strong form

I think Ade made it all possible...he lulled their defence into a false sense of security, so when you stepped it up, they were nowhere.

Huddlestone really knows how to pick and place a pass but my heart was in my mouth when he went in for a rash challenge whilst on a yellow. We seemed to wake up when it got past 3pm. No doubt we'll struggle in the 'easier' games now we've beaten city - confidence is key though, especially for the likes of Defoe who I read hadn't scored since Boxing Day. Fingers firmly crossed, arsenal are winning ugly but 21/21 points since we played them is phenomenal. Who knows what Chelsea will do given they have arguably the toughest games remaining and Europa games

Chelsea game is the real big one for you I think. I can't see you beating Arsenal, especially as Man U will probably wrap up the title tonight.

Chelsea however, are there for the taking. And Rafa is still being Rafa. AVB is at least making rational choices.

Blimey, what we'd give for two United victories after tonight's game!

Probably more chance there than Harry's new lot doing us a favour against Arsenal, but you never know.

Phew! This is tense!

Well we have given ourselves and excellent chance - it is in our own hands now so 5 wins would be lovely (knowing us though Wigan will beat us)! 70 points was good enough for 3rd last season however I don't think it will be this year.

Arsenal have a fairly easy run in but Chelsea have a couple of tricky fixtures - both play Man Utd who could be coasting after this evening.

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

Fergie was suggesting they're going for Chelsea's points record (95) but that means they need five wins. So something for them to play for but not sure how serious that is.

Well it's probably more likely than the 2 Fulham victories I was wishing for this time last week! I think regardless, Manchester United won't want to lose either of those games & I'd rather Arsenal & Chelsea had to face them in the run in than us.

After y'days win, should Arsenal lose on Sunday, we can still finish in the top 4 even with a defeat at Stamford Bridge. A win & we've done it, a draw and we edge closer and with a loss we'll still be in the mix on the last day of the season when Chelsea are at home to Everton & Arsenal away to Newcastle.
The downside though is I'll be at WHL that day. I've only got to a few games this season but have seen some very mixed performances: 1-1 Norwich, 0-1 Wigan, 1-0 Swansea, 3-0 Inter Milan, 0-1 Fulham.

Yes, this is all on the basis that we don't lose to Wigan!

Probably.

Lose to Wigan. Beat Southampton. Beat Chelsea. Lose to Stoke. Beat Sunderland. Finish on 70 points & miss out on Goal Difference. Be the first team to reach 70 points & not finish 4th or higher. Or something like that.

I'm fully confident that we'll do it, keep the faith, we have Gareth back now and hopefully JD will get picked ahead of that useless **** Adebayor.

Yes, some great substitutions on Sunday - what a guy AVB is, eh?!

Holtby looked better too, plus the return of Lennon and Defoe (as well as Bale). At least we can't blame injuries if we cock it up from here on in.
