Has anyone ever managed to have several individual images side by side in a footer widget?
I suspect there is something in the main .css (child of 2010 theme) scuppering it.

Hmm. Can you do widgets side by side? So each image is in its own widget?

Dunno. I've never tried that. I inherited admin rights on another site I maintain and it has them. I've looked at the Text on the widget and the .css but I can't find anything

Have you tried putting them all in a wrapper div then floating them left (or right) ?
If you use firebug or the chrome equivalent it should be easy to see what styles are being applied.
Are you actually using a widget to do anything? It might be easier just to edit footer.php

The easiest way is probably to have an image widget instance for each image - drag one in, then just drag it in again. The footer might be split into sections though, and each one can have a max width applied.

Wordpress - build your own website - howto, tips & links - beginners to advanced
Hello,
Has anyone ever tried to move their wordpress website onto a new domain?
Basically what I've done (and I really should have thought about this more before building the site I suppose!) is made my website on my own domain for example www.oldweb.co.uk
and now that it's ready I want to move it onto the new domain www.newweb.co.uk
I see that I can export an XML file through the WP admin panel, but wouldn't all the links to pages, posts, images, uploaded files etc have the URL of my old site in them? OR is WP that magical that it changes those URLs to the new domain for me?
If not is there any solution to this apart from manually changing each link?
Thanks.

When I did this in the past I used the Duplicator plugin.
It packages everything up (database and files) and then you can unpackage it at the new domain name using the Installer file and it will change the database details so that it works.
Saying this... last time I tried it I messed up because I wasn't sure if I should be entering the original database details (name and login details) in the Installer section or whether I should have created a new database at the new domain name.
But it is possible if you can work it out... the video is what I watched to do it the first few times:

There should be an import/export option in tools in the current site. Create a blank site on the new domain, add the theme and plugins, then use the export from the old site and see what happens - should maintain the pages, posts, media gallery, though some of the individual plugin and theme settings may need to be tweaked

Thanks guys, so a couple of options there. I'll watch that video Psycho thanks.
John - the export option in settings is what I'd planned to use, but say for example on one of my pages I've got a few links to PDF files that I've uploaded, will the export/import method automatically change the link from say
www.old-domain.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/file.pdf
to.....
www.new-domain.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/file.pdf
I'll watch that video and see whether that is more suitable if it won't do that.

Don't worry - there's a plugin for that ! It sounds pretty scary, but works really well -
Velvet Blues Update URLs (4.9 out of 5 stars) and here's a brief tut.

If the link was made in Wordpress then yes. If it was hardcoded by someone pasting in the URL then no.

Mojo Themes - cyber bundle - annual deal for 1 week only
I'm not sure if the savings are quite as impressive as advertised, but at just $29 for 12 decent themes, even if there's only 1 or 2 you can see yourself using, it would be worth snapping this up.
(" Items in the bundle include updates but for on-going support you need to purchase the item individually.")

I've just set up a site. I don't want anything complex and I've got it working fine, but I am completely overwhelmed by the theme side of things. I guess I just want something that's not the standard WP overcoat but there are just. so. many.
