And another £25 this month. Let's hope it's the start of something big for next month.

They haven't yet updated the front page of the NS&I site, but I logged into my account to find £25 more in there than I was expecting - so they must update the NS&I accounts well ahead of their usual checker. Anyway:
January = £0
February = £0
March = £25, £25
April = £25
May = £25
June = £25
I logged-in originally to see if they had increased the total potential holdings to £40,000 like was outlined in the budget as happening in June - they have done that, so who here's going to be first to hit £40k in bonds?

I'll be using the 15k ISA limit and the 2xS123 accounts 1st before I put anything back into PM's. On Moneybox on Saturday then they should you could possibly get upto 23 prizes a year(if lucky) with 40k in Bonds where as a £1 bond will probaly win once in a lifetime!

Some people seem to have great luck and consistently get £25 per month, others seem to never get anything at all! (My dad)
Is there a trick to it?

Unless you know how much they have invested, then the frequency and size of win is meaningless.

On Moneybox on R4 a few weeks ago they said that if you have the max amount then you could be as lucky to get around 23 prizes a year but a person with a single bond would be lucky to win once in a lifetime. There are no guarantee's though.

How many months are you prepared to let it continue and without Investment level then hard to tell.If its £100 investment then thats quite good but upper Thousands Id have it in an interest paying or ISA unless you filled those options already?

Re: Premium Bonds Questions and Answers / Winners and Losers (Part 2)
£3k. Best I could have done in savings would have been about £60, so yes, down on the year, but I don't just see it as a savings vehicle, it is an opportunity to win some bigger money.

You can get £60 a yr from Halifax if you have a current account and pay so much in a month but with 3k thats about right and if you win big then you will be one lucky bugger 3k you arent missing out on Interest really and a good yr could see you up doing well.It would be different if we were talking 10k+

2x£25 this month. Onwards and upwards for next month, 2x £1,000,000 prices. Not too shabby to take one of those.

The second million is now part of the prizes, and the interest rate for the prize fund is up from a paltry 1.30% to a colossal 1.35%
