2018 seems to be the year that I'm rediscovering music and clicking with new things. I think I'm also mellowing too, I'm listening to a lot more chilled stuff compared to the noisy rock I grew up with!
Exactly the same boat as you! After I attended Record Store Day a couple of weeks back and seeing lots of cool album covers, Ive been discovering all sort of new stuff.
Here's a selection of what I'm currently listening too...
South Korean surf-rock band Say Sue Me
Guarantee this song's chorus will be stuck in your head...
The Shacks are mostly inspired by old music. The production on their new album Haze sounds all warm and fuzzy
Jon Hopkins new album Singularity sounds more of the same, but still a nice listen
Thanks for that. Didn't know he'd released a solo album. Instant purchase after I watched this, even though the acoustic isn't on the album.
No problem. Even though I've heard of Alter Bridge, I've never actually listened to their stuff. There are plenty of good videos relating to the album on YouTube, including a 35 minute making of that is an interesting watch.

I would like to recommend Roan Ash who is a singer from South Africa, which is probably why he is so under the radar that music-map.com doesn't even know who he is.
His 7 track EP/Album Whiskey To My Soul was released back in March and has some really good songs on it including the one below If I Ever Saw Heaven.
I like that it is oddly addictive. For some reason it makes me want to relisten to songs from Miranda Lamber's most recent album The Weight of These Wings; especially Vice, Running Just in Case and Ugly Lights.
I've been really enjoying the album by Tom Grennan called Lighting Matches. In a way it feels very old while also sounding fresh and new at the same time. I don't know anything about the artist but I can recommend giving the album a listen.
I do like to recommend the under the radar artists so this time I would like to highly recommend Andrew Belle.. He has had three albums released: The Ladder, Black Bear and Dive Deep. But if you take my advice, in order to put together the best Andrew Belle playlist you should definitely check out the Hushed EP version of Black Bear which has some really great stripped down versions of the songs from the admittedly over produced album versions. Add to that the first three tracks from The Daylight EP. Also there are the singles In My Veins and the recently released cover of Fade Into You. There is also a Hushed EP version of the Dive Deep album on the horizon that I'm looking forward to.
