No.

You will have to burn them to DVD or something if you want to watch them after that.

Managed to get a new Sky HD box and Sky Movies for free for 6months the other week, by saying I wanted to cancel as my HD box was knacked and did not want to pay for a new one as I can get a free box if I join Virgin

They did a free weekend a while ago, and YES you can still watch the films recorded after the weekend is up. I still had a couple from last time a few weeks after the freebie weekend and they were fine

Whoops sorry for the wrong info custard_chris.

They have changed it then, as there have been a few times in the past when they have done these free weekends on Movies and Sports I have been able to watch things that I had recorded once the offer was over.

Same thing happened with the Free Sports day last month.

I recorded a match from SS1HD, and it I could still watch it aftre the weekend, and I'm not a sport or HD subscriber.

So definitely worth recording some, just incase - worst that happens is you can't watch them and end up deleting them.

Good to know, but thanks to the poxy drive in my V+ Box I'll only be able to record about 2 films in HD

Last time they did this I kept a film and it wouldn't let me watch it after the free weekend.

Well I'm hoping that stuff recorded can still be watched.

Haven't been with Sky for quite a few years now, but on Thursday we get a new HD box, only going for Variety, Kids, Knowledge + HD so it would be good to get a few free HD movies to watch.

It would be a little strange to put movies on at 4 in the morning and you can't record them as they won't work a few hours later

I am also registered to Sky Player on my Xbox 360, though am no longer a Sky subscriber. Will the offer extend to the Xbox service?

Yes but you might not be able to view them afterwards as normally you need an active Movies subscription to view any films you have recorded.

You can't record them and keep them to watch later if you are no longer subscribed to the movies.

I had loads recorded at one point a few years ago (because of one of their discounted deals) and when I reverted back to the standard package (because most of their 'premieres' had been sitting on my shelves for at least a year on BD/DVD) the guy told me to get them watched because I wouldn't be able to once I reverted.

Out of curiosity I kept a couple recorded and sure enough I couldn't watch them.

They rang yesterday offering the movies for 8.00 a month for the next three months. I said I'd think about it and ring them back after they had been free

Oh, last time they had a free weekend I couldn't get any of the movie channels except the standard freebie ones.
