wow, Abarat 3 has been a long time coming... just hope that the UK hardback has a design consistent with the previous volumes when it finally gets released

Beneath The Surface of Abarat turned up yesterday....it was #1 and was personally signed to me by Clive.
Lovely looking book...loads of colour pictures/sketches, but I am unsure how much to read until I have read the novels! (Spoilers!)

did wonder if that was the case with the delivery times some sites were quoting, doesn't seem easy to find in the UK

My daughter is 9 tomorrow, she has asked me several times if she could read Book1 but I am unsure if these are quite suitable for her as yet! How old is your daughter?

nearly 18, so would have been about same age when she read the first book, I didn't think it was too dark for her & she was very bored with the rubbish the school were trying to get her to read which were really just too basic for the level she was reading at, she loved it.
I read it first & she had it while we were on holiday, hardly put it down, did get a few funny looks, I guess most just think of him as a horror writer.

I was away when it was finally published, but am now looking to pick up a copy of Absolute Midnight. can anyone clarify what is going on with the US versions? from what I have seen I'm assuming that the UK version has broken away from the design of the first couple of volumes with the 'squared' cover? shame

hmm... I looked on the Cliver Barker website and the current cover does appear in sequence after the previous two UK ones on the following page: http://www.clivebarker.info/youngabarat.html although the design does seem to follow on logically from the US paperback editions, so that is all very confusing. I had a quick look at a copy on the high street the other day and it is another beautifully printed book in any case...

is a shame they went away from the previous 2 designs, were much better, not that keen on the new one but the artwork in the book is still stunning.

Surprised this has not been posted...
Scarlet Gospels has a release date and is up for pre-order...

Love the UK cover.
May have to start re-reading the books that feature D'Amour to prepare.
