Cheapest Windows Mobile/Android phone
Hi all,
I am after a Windows Mobile or Android touch screen phone unlocked (or on O2) as cheap as possible - any suggestions to what I should be looking at?
Cheers,
Steve

I've just got a pulse recently, and it's excellent. You won't get a cheaper android phone.

You will not be disappointed by Android - it's a superb OS that looks like it's going to take off big-time this year!

The pulse is no longer on tmobile's site to buy which worries me that it won't ever get an update from Android 1.5... even though there are rumours on forums that it will get a v2.0 by April.
Any other ideas folks?
Edit: although if I can find one in store I'll prob go for it

Samsung i5700 - excellent Android phone - GPS/WiFi/3.2" AMOLED Screen/Bluetooth/3.2MP camera and a fast 800MHz processor etc only £150 off ebay brand new.
I have one from T-Mobile, it currently runs Android 1.5 but there is going to be an upgrade to 2.1 (eclair). In fact if your brave you can get beta;s here: http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/
Cheers!
John

my current phone is a virgin and im with orange, never been able to get the internet to work, makes we wonder if i would have the same trouble if i got a pulse unlocked. The staff in orange shops havent got a clue and say you have to ring their number, they're just salesmen, and then when I ring the orange helpline often the lackey there hasn't got a clue. Nearest I got was one of them said they'd text me the settings, which never arrived, then said sorry can't help.

Hey we do have a clue (well some of us @ orange store anyway) it's because your phone is from another network that you are having problems with the Internet if the settings sent through via text don't work the you have to manually input the settins to the handset (takes a few min) you might need to google for them, they were on the orange website at one time but they have chnaged it around a bit and I'm not quite sure where they have put them??!!??

I get settings for GPRS, SMS message centres etc when I've needed them, normally when helping a family member, or using a weird phone or something, from File Save As - have a bash with the manual details on there.

thats handy, first of all i tried changing the Virgingprs settings to orangeinternet and then paygwap, both came up with the message: Cannot connect. Verify you have network coverage and then try again (this is what it always comes up with). Thanks for the site though, did try looking for the details on the orange website but couldnt find them.

Do you have to turn bluetooth on or something before connecting? Also found a virgin proxy setting, but no mention of that on the file save as website. Anyway hopefully getting a new phone in the next couple of weeks, although it is annoying that orange keep sending me texts like the recent one, free internet til 12th march and i cant bloody use it!

Going to ring orange again next to make sure my sim card is optimised to receive data, as I've only just recently learnt this could be the problem. Was wondering whether wap had to be turned on somewhere on my phone (lobster running WM5). Also if I do get a new phone I don't know whether the problem is on the phone or on the simcard.
