From the last thread:
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2009/07...6908-21488235/
expected to be announced in the next week or so. Stinks of a cartel, but they'll probably get away with it.
Would be interesting to see the outcry if they played it the same way bidding for the (English) Premier League and decided which packages they each would bid on.

Great start by M'Well in the Europa league ... beaten 1-0 at "home" (i.e. Airdrie) by some Welsh outfit.
And as for the TV deal, reports that Sky and ESPN (are there any other player out there?!) going to go for a joint bid which will eclipse the Setanta Deal.
Not sure if eclipse is the right word here, probably more like "massively undercut" or "make a mockery of".
Sure Lex Gold et Al think otherwise

Well done Motherwell for overcoming their embarrassment from last week.
Scottish Football is BACK! ..... well, until they get gubbed by that Albanian pub-team next week.

The new deal basically works out much the same as the last Setanta one (not the over negotiated huge one that sent them under). Most annoying parts is I got Setanta free with Virgin, can't see me getting the new channel though, the quality last season was pretty poor.

30 games a season each for Sky & ESPN & Sky are getting all 4 Old Frim derbies - very strange decision that. Can't see many people taking ESPN for 30 x 2nd rate SPL games.

The SPL get half of what they espected and the fans will have the pleasure of paying out 3.6 times as much as they did last season - mostly insubsidy of the EPL.
Well done SPL and in particular Lex Gold not only have you messed up the SPL finances but well and truely sr**wed the Fans as well.
I will not be signing up next season.

I'm not a huge fan of Lex Brass but how is this his fault?
Setanta going bust certainly isn't.
Setanta offering more money last time around isn't.
The majority of the clubs going for that offer rather than Sky's isn't.
What am I missing?

As a Celtic fan, I must admit to being dissapointed withteh appointment of Mowberry. A non entity manager. The guy is gonna be a flop with Celtic in the Champions League. I cant see us winning anything at home this season in the CL.

Ferguson has signed for Birmingham now.
Not too fussed, he had some good games but last season the majority passed him by, Mendes, Davis, Thomson and Edu are all more than capable in midfield. Would like McGregor to stay though as he would be a bigger loss.
