The Official Sky HD Thread and FAQ
Can anyone else access their Sky box right now and try 957 BBC 1 Lincs/Humber and just try pausing it. It’s my normal 101 channel and I’m getting a you can’t banner.
Edit - further research has revealed that all BBC1 SD regions have this issue EXCEPT London, all the HD regions are fine. Weird

Since no-one else has responded...
957 for me is BBC Yk&Li. Pause works fine. This is on a SkyQ box.
In fact all the regional SD channels pause fine for me.

Just booked a Sky Q 2Tb and mini box install for 28th Nov.
My main concern is that the wifi where my current Sky HD box ain't very good, so I have hard wired via a Netgear Gigabit switch (which it shares with Apple TV, FireTV and BR Player) and a TP-Link AV1000 Powerline adaptor.
The wifi where the mini box will be is great - so the question is will this setup, i.e. wired main box with wireless mini, work?

I have wired main box and wireless mini working fine. Sky had to install a wifi booster box to boost signal to my mini box which was free. They thoroughly test connectivity and install boosters where necessary.

Dont suppose you'll get Disney + included in your SkyQ bundle will you?
Noticed the app is there but have to sign in...

No, you have to pay extra for it, like adding Netflix to your sky bundle

Anyone else in the situation where their contract has ended and negotiating a new one? The main reason I get Sky is for the football and I'm wondering how much there will actually be. I can see this season closing behind closed doors, but I can imagine the next season being quite different, quite limited. Wondering if I should just ditch Sy altogether for now and wait, get Now TV for when the season starts until it ends and then keep my options open..... Hmmmm!

You know you've been able to get a discount on your Sky Sports subscription for a while now, right ?

I'd be tempted just to ditch it altogether if you don't need the general TV elements. You'll be able to sign up at some discount in the future. Not sure when football will resume, at best they'll offer you a discount for a bit. Might as well do the signing up as a returning customer.
Fairly certain the postcards started dropping through my door within a month offering 75% off

Sky Sports sub has been suspended since mid March, so long as you ask them. Very easy to do on the website/app and you still get the content they’re recycling and putting out.

Yes, I have sports paused. They're offering me 40.50 a month (21.50 until sports resumes) for sports, hd, entertainment, box sets and kids. At the moment it's just going up from 37 a month to 73 (minus the 20 for paused sports) so I either need to agree a new one or ditch completely.
You might be right though jockosjungle, I've hardly out the sky box on as I have a Freeview DVR that we watch normal channels on

I’ve been looking at my bill and next month I have an “other” charge of Ł93ish! Basically a full month, what the hell? I’m hoping before they actually charge it this will drop off but I am concerned.

Have you come to the end of a discount? They never seem to let you know when that happens, rely on your to keep a note of it....
I wouldn't assume, I'd contact them. They have a text chat that operates 8am-8pm that makes it easier to respond in your own time if you don't want to sit on hold for ages. It took about three hours for me to get a response and I'm still chatting to them (two days now!) but it's at my own convenience!

I always get a letter telling me they're rolling my discount over and I don't need to do anything. I pay Ł10 a month for the basic package just to have a recorder box, gonna ditch it at some point when I get round to it though
