The random lip sync issues are really starting to annoy me on my Pace box. Also it has a problem where when chanigng channels from a DD to normal stereo it screws up the sound and pumps the same through both channels (causing my surround system to put the same sound out of all speakers). If I change channels and come back it is usually ok.

I'm not sure yet but I think they've fixed the FF bug.

The FF box was never evident on the Samsung box (at least the one I have) so I hope they don't introduce that :P
The standard Sky+ boxes do not have enough memory to store the new EPG code, which now caches the entire EPG to the hard disk for faster access. Sky have maintained all along that this is purely for HD boxes.
The excitable bunch on DS are indeed going wild, but to call them saddo's is a bit harsh - they are excited about some new technology.
There are some enhancements which I am looking forward to as and when it touches down on my Samsung HD box;
Series Stacking
Better Search
Ability to use guide whilst watching live/recorded TV (< most important to me)

Biggest improvement for me would be to be able to pull up info on a program whilst watching another (e.g. using the direction keys to navigate around current shows or future ones and then pressing info and getting the info on that show not the one you are currently viewing).
Better search would be good, but as I have DigiGuide I am not too fussed there.
Will be interesting to see this when it gets to the Pace boxes finally.

I called them saddos because there are people on there wishing cancer on those who get the new EPG first. I guess that's acceptable to some
As expected I didn't get the update as my box has been unplugged for the last few months. I might cry because I can't have the new EPG now!

One added benefit from the update is that those with the new EPG are able to add ITVHD via other channels.
Watched some of the Liverpool game and the quality is very good. Never thought I would hear myself say that about a football game on ITV

Polarisarion: h
symbol rate: 27.5
Fec: 2/3
Press yellow to find channels and the label is 10510

The number of hours of programming on ITVHD is very limited - reserved mostly for Champions League football and "Wild at Heart" - hardly a titilating lineup if like me you're not a footie fan
With ITV in the financial position it's in right now I cannot predict the future of ITVHD - ITV need more money, so getting it to the Sky subscriber base (or indeed just to Sky boxes to reach Freesatfromsky customers) would give them much wider advertising scope BUT the investment in HD programming needed to turn the so-called channel into something worth while (i.e. more native HD programming and upscaling non-HD content to fill the gaps) is going to take investment using money they just don't have.
There is also the technical issues of how to deliver ITVHD nationwide - as ITV use regional advertising, the current ITVHD uses the ITV Granada feed, so advertising is North-West based. They need to get round this before it can be offered on Sky (either settle for having only Granada adverts or they will have to broadcast multiple versions for each region or use the interactive latform - OpenTV, to switch to the SD stream for ad breaks).
Who know's what the future for ITV holds...

Other than the football, I can't imagine I'll watch much on ITV HD at the moment. DJBenson has summed up their situation pretty well and I don't forsee any major advancements in their HD service for quite some time, if ever.

Bit annoyed with this rollout. Using same SKYHD box I've had since launch day (May 2006 ?) and didn't get the update.
Would of be nice to see Liverpool game in HD last night.

Although not the place for this discussion, what I've just seen on Granada Reports just adds to confirm ITV's financial position. Granada (I believe the single largest ITV region) has pulled out of a move of studios from their Quay Street location in Manchester to one in Salford on cost grounds. Last week they made 2/3 of their workforce at ITV Yorkshire redundant and axed popular shows such as Heart Beat and The Royal (not my cup of tea but generally considered a staple part of ITV's drama lineup).

D'oh just worked out that a "feature" as in a bug is in fact a feature after all. Pressing blue then select takes you back to the last watched channel, at last the old pre-digi function return!
