The classic dr who weekend on scifi has face of evil and pyramids of mars on, neither are true timetravel stories but both have elements of the outcome of the Doctor meddling with time.
Still not a sniff of the new theme arrangement... what are they hiding?
Why do they have to be hiding anything?
Maybe they just want to reveal it when the episode airs. After all they aren't telling us the plots of the episodes either, or what the new Tardis interior looks like.
Is it the same music bloke as last time? Sometimes his themes are excellent (Marthas Theme still being my favourite) but othertimes he makes it sound like a Scooby Doo episode. And it's always TOO LOUD. If they fix that then that'll go a long way to fixing the show.
The articles in DWM suggest that this series will be a gradual evolution, rather than a sudden change, and has been planned as such so as not to alienate the audience.
But did anyone except them to change a winning formula completely? I just want a bit more coherence, a bit less of the "we can make up any old crap because it is for kids and *normal* people...." attitude. Oh, and bombastic music used when they need bombastic music, not to add drama to walking down a corridor. Other than that, more of the same please
If Moffatt does intend to "change" the show (not sure how much leeway he will have with the BBC) then it makes sense to do it gradually.
Still - this show is not and never will be an "adult" show. It's a show which is intended for a family audience so there is a limit to how dark it could become. Mind you thinking back to Season 3 and the run of stories from Human Nature through to Utopia. Oh to have a whole season of that quality, with no Last of the Timelords to screw it up.
I'm just hoping for better acting, less music, better stories and plots, and no more magic reset button - that got old during Star Trek TNG.

Do you really think I meant it literally? If Gold's been hired again it must be for a good reason - it's just odd that the new arrangement hasn't featured in all the publicity hoopla (the 2005 version - or at least an unfinished version of it - was proudly aired on Radio 1 a few weeks before the series began).
And as for the Tardis, there's a pretty good description of the interior on a review linked earlier in this thread, not to mention several glimpses in the trailers.
Jonathan Ross welcomes Matt Smith to his Friday night show
Date: 26.03.2010
Category: TV Entertainment; BBC One
Matt Smith, Emma Thompson and Professor Brian Cox join Jonathan Ross for this week's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC One.
New Time Lord Matt Smith talks about becoming the Doctor: "My Doctor [is] clumsy, a little reckless, [but] becomes more assured as the series develops."
He also reveals: "I couldn't tell anyone for three months," and says: "To my mind it's the best part in British TV history."
He tells Jonathan that he took advice from David Tennant and that he's eager to take on his mantle: "I spoke to David briefly, he said 'enjoy the ride'."
On the TARDIS, he reveals there have been some changes: "It's bigger on the inside, has different levels, other rooms including a library, [and is] a different shade of blue outside."
Finally, he says he's here to stay: "I hope to do at least another year, it's a wonderful part and I want to keep it."
And there's an exclusive sneak preview of the Doctor's encounter with vampires.
Actress Emma Thompson reveals husband Greg Wise dated Kate Winslet on the set of Sense & Sensibility: "He was told you're going to meet your future partner... so he courted Kate for weeks, took her to Glastonbury. She didn't take to it because she's a mod and he's a hippy – it didn't work out so it turned out to be me!"
She says that Nanny McPhee is her homage to her father's classic children's creation, The Magic Roundabout, and that her daughter Gaia was an extra in the film but isn't interested in following in her footsteps: "She wants to be a waitress and an artist... acting as a job? So unimpressed!"
Lastly, scientist Professor Brian Cox (whose Wonders Of The Solar System can currently be seen on Sundays on BBC Two) reveals he failed Maths A level: "I got a D... I was really not very good... I found out you need to practise." He also believes children should enjoy science: "We need to get over [that] it's not that difficult."
A Hotsauce TV production.
Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, 10.35pm, Friday 26 March 2010, BBC One
We won't completely spoil the surprise and we certainly can't show any pictures yet but...
If you liked the new paintjob on the Daleks as revealed in the new trailer, never mind the blink-and-you'll-miss-it hint that they're working with the British Army ( Look closely at the "dogtag" glyph under the eyestalk ) - Well, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
Put it this way - These aren't your father's Daleks.
