Good news for us .... we don't want a key player flying half way round the world, and back, every international week
Just so long as it doesn't affect his permit application.

It is a worry, but the criteria does not include future international matches, just those in the preceding 2 years, so really it is irrelevant in that respect. I wouldn't be surprised if he went back on his decision if the coach was sacked anyway

As posted on another forum ....
Trabelsi on a free to replace Kromkamp who, still feeling homesick, wants to go back to Holland so is part of a player + cash deal with Feyenoord to get Kuyt.
Trabelsi and Aurellio as cover/competition for RB and LB respectively, Bellamy, Kuyt, Alves and Pa(u)letta
If he pulls that off ... Rafa is truly

That all sounds great but you omit one of our real problem areas, right wing. With Didi looking like he'll be going it's even more important that we sort this out so we don't end up being short in centre midfield if Gerrard is stuck out on the right.

Erm .... as has been pointed out on here several times, Alves is being bought in to play RW.

The Echo is now saying the Alves deal is virtually dead and that Trabelsi, Pennant and Kuyt it seems will arrive instead of Alves himself!

Liverpool are to be shown live on Sky 6 times before Jan 1st.
5 away and Tottenham being the only home game to be shown live. Sheff Utd away is the first live game on the season (12:45 kick-off) and will be the first Premiership game to be shown in HD.

That'd actually do quite nicely.... didnt think about Kromkamp as part of the Kuyt deal, but its definitely Paletta and not Pauletta.

Ah ...
my six were Sky Sports games, the missing 5 are Prem+
but again, of those 5 only 1 (West Ham) is at home.
For armchair fans (or ST holders who find going to aways difficult) ... 11 live games - 9 away and 2 home is very good.
Makes my Prem+ ST worth the £50 already

We don't know that for sure, last time I looked no-one on the forums had direct access to Rafa to know what his plans are. It would make sense that Alves would come in as a replacement for Kronkamp as besides Carra we have no real cover for Finnan at RB. This means Alves would likely play at RB on occasions....

I can't think of any sensible manager who would spend £10/12M on a reserve player

I share you're view, I'd rather have an attacking minded winger who can chip in with goals rather than a defensive one. His record at club level is hardly inspring on the goal front either;
Quote:
02-03 FC Séville 0 Goals ,6 Games (-)
03-04 FC Séville 1 Goals, 29 Games (-)
04-05 FC Séville 2 Goals, 34 Games 9 Games (UEFA Cup)
05-06 FC Séville 3 Goals, 35 Games (-)

Maybe he'll play on the RW often or maybe he's lined up for Finnans spot. He's definitely sought after by us because he can play RB though and I'd imagine Rafa will use him in both positions.
If he's being bought to play RW and start all the time as you are suggesting then who misses out? It seems Garcia would be most at threat but I can't see Alonso and Gerrard being dropped and Sissoko is probably a banker too which only really leaves the LW slot open......
