Everyoe has assumed that it's Abramovich behind MSI but that's only speculation. It's thought that it's Russian money behind the group but there are a number of Russian billionaires who could easily afford it with Berezovsky the one most commomly linked to MSI. If it's Berezovsky behind MSI then Chelsea will get nobody from Corinthians.

Aren't Corinthians owned by the same bloke that owns Spurs?

Chelsea were linked with a bid for Tevez last season (but then again Chelsea are linked with a bid for any player worth £15m or more!) which died a death - I'd love your speculation above to be the reason why as tha would mean that Chelsea couldn't just buy any player in the world....

I'd take him at LB for us any day. With the amount of bad boys were are acruing though we would probably run out of corners of the dressing room for all the unliked players to sit alone in!

We haven't even been linked with him have we...?
Is this just wishful thinking on our part since we're after one more striker.
Strikers we have:
Target man
Fast tricky striker
Goal Poacher
I think the next striker we will go for will be a mix of all three to dovetail with the rest of the strikeforce. Don't think we'll get a little 'un.
Unfortunately the mixture of them is probably Bent. I think Kuyt will be Rafa's number one target now.

It doesnt work like that most of the time, if we bid £15m and its accepted, they will match it and it will come down to contract negotiations.

No we havent been linked with him at all, I just said we should go for him. Unfortunately the board at our club doesnt have the ambition or intelligence to make moves like that.
I dont think types matter, we just need another top striker and he is it.

I love how everyone always thinks we can scrape together another £2m for a different player whatever the transfer fee

No one seems to know how much dollar we have and we seem to find it when we are sure about the player i.e. Cisse and Alonso
If there was a top player who we were totally sure about and we thought was worth 15m, I reckon we would find it somehow.

alonso & cisse were paid/paying via instalments. no chance of us finding 15 million cash in one go. for a recent CL winning side it's pretty embarrassing. i'd be surprised if parry is there much longer to be honest. he'll fall on his sword over the stadium fiasco.

There isn't a club in English Football outside of Chelsea who will pay £15m cash for anyone. I think people seem to think we are the poorest club in the World or something. The Mancs have made a profit this summer seemingly so far, Spurs have spent £15/20m, Newcastle have spent £5m I think and Arsenal have spent little as well.

Just a small niggle, but surely the 'whose' in the thread title should be 'who's'...?

The problem is not the amount of money avaiable but the amount of positions that have needed to be improved. Hopefully next summer Rafa will only require a couple of signings and can therefore spend more money on just two players.
