Funnily Wenger gets credit for making him into a world-class striker but it's very rarely mentioned that Henry played as a striker at youth level and was first used as winger by Wenger at Monaco.

I think he has watched him play for France rather than Arsenal

Well, that's your opinion, but in mine Henry doesn't win Champions league finals, Shevchenko is past it adn Adriano cannot use his right foot at all (and he's brazilian :O)

No you are so ******* wrong. The best striker in the world is Kenny Miller. Shevo, Henry, Adriano and even a super freaky fit Ronaldo are all ***** compared to my main man Kenny Miller. He is a goal machine.

apparantly we were even offered him and turned the chance down.
Where would he fit, in a squad that already has Garcia who does the same job?
He is class though....

I would much rather have Aimar over Garcia. I'm not so sure that we were offered him-we seem to be linked with every single La Liga player in one form or another.

I definately think so - you'll never hear me write off a World Class striker in Shevchenko. He's just a fantastic talent and will be for another 3 years I reckon.

All a bit tongue in cheek lads - Shevy is still good, but not great as he once was. Adriano is clearly fantastic too, but I'm just amazed he can't use his right foot at all. Clearly Henry is great too (at least in the prem....).
I do hope shevy does great in the prem, except on two league occasions and maybe the odd cup match here and there

I'd rather have them both, Garcia. He has won us so many important games.

Bloody hell ... I agree with TigaSefi.
Based on last night's 'performance' .... £10M for Kuyt would be a total waste - Newcastle can have him.

See, this is why you can't just judge players on WC appearences. He's playing in a 4-3-3 and he's never going to work in a 4-3-3. RVN looked **** for Holland in that same role but I bet some people would wet themselves if we signed him. Carragher has looked, well, average for England so far in this tourney but does anyone question him? No, because we all know what he does week in and week out for this Club Side. People who have been watching Kuyt in Dutch Football say he's a top, top forward and very similar to Alan Shearer if played in a 4-4-2 formation. I'd far rather hear the opinions of those fans and of Rafa's scouting team than basing my opinion on what I've seen in the World Cup.

quote from the THE SUN newspaper
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is threatening to pull out of his swoop for Sevilla winger Dani Alves as the Spanish side want £12.5million for the 23-year-old.
is this transfer going the way of FIGO deal last year, spent months chaseing him, then he goes somewhere else, then end up getting nobody ,
for a player this is not in the worldcup,so is not tied down to speak to any club wanting to buy him, this deal is going very slow

as I understand it, it has nothing to do with Alves - he is keen to come, Sevilla are stalling over the money.
