How would that work? There are loads of teams in qualification so how would they decide who doesn't have to play their game?

Actually Inter are higher than us.
And the place is more likely to go to the highest ranked team from a country which doesn't have an automatic qualifier which is ... Staua Bucharest.

I wouldn't want to see Barragan go out of those as he looks a really good prospect but the other 2 are probably surpluss to requirements.
On a related note (as a replacement for Zenden), don't we find out about the Gonzalez permit tomorrow?

Yeah, would like Barragan to stay on. Now that we've got Aurelio and Paletta, we have enough defensive cover to throw Warnock and Traore into the deal instead, they couldn't possibly say no then

I think its based on a given that Juventus will be disqualified from the competition, places should also go to the highest ranked.

Jimmy Hasselbank has been released by Boro. Im sure he'd be an excellent free signing for a year if we're really strapped for cash.

I wonder what will happen if the Italian clubs are relegated, all the players will want out and some could end up in the Premiership.
Trezeguet on the cheap would be a good addition to LFC

I agree. I think that while we get finances sorted there should be room for older tried-and-trusted players in our squad.
I understand a fair few Juve players are already being sniffed around on the basis that they won't play in Serie B/C...

Exactly - so then inter will be one of those, and we will be higher ranked than other non-auto qualifiers. Dunno if it'll work that way tho.

Looks like Barragan may be sold to Deportivo but with a buyback clause in the sale incase he impresses. Looks like we need the cash for him otherwise I'm sure it would have been a loan....
