On his day he is a good player it is just like a few other players these days you get a bit of baggage with him.

assume blackburn definitely don't want pongolle then as he'd have been a makeweight in the deal.

I believe we couldnt do that because the contract clause states 6m cash, so if we had bid 3m + pongolle it wouldnt have triggered the clause

anyway there'll be another striker arriving,it could be him

So they'd have Crouch, Fowler, Bellamy and Bent? I'm assuming Cisse's going/gone. Isn't that overkill? I bet Gerrard still gets most of the goals still!

Nope.
No news as far as I can make out...I'm still not sure why an application was made as I thought he would have gained EU Citizenhip by now due to length of residency in Spain, or was that a hopeful rumour?

Gonzalez is eligible for a Spanish passport when he has been resident for 2 years and that's this summer.

That process takes up to 6 months - so that could roll on till the end of the year. This work permit is the bridge between now and then.

Wasnt he signed as a right winger? But when i have seen him play since we signed him he always seems to play left wing and looks very left footed!

Gonzalez has always been a left winger, but he can play on the right also.

Yeah in the same way that Garcia and Kewell are! We need to sign someone who is a natural right winger! But rumour has it that the Alves deal is almost done, Ł10 mil But isnt he like finnan and Kromkamp, a right back who can maybe play right midfield?

Speedy was brought to play on the left not on the right. Alves is Rafa's choose for RM/RW, he plays wingback for Sevilla but is adapt at all positions on the right hand side. he was an out and out winger in his junior days according to Paco.
Brazilian right backs don't exactly have a history of sitting back do they?
