Help! Streaming movies from PC to Laptop

I've currently got a lot of my movies in divx format on my desktop PC, which is running XP Pro SP2.

I would like to wirelessly stream the movies to my laptop which is wifi enabled, which is hooked up to my 32" LCD in the bedroom.

I have broadband, but not via a router, just a cheapy Tiscali modem.

How can I stream the movies wirelessly to the laptop? Do I have to get a router and set up a wireless network (not a pleasant thought) or is there another easier option?

you could buy a wirless card for the PC, its a cheaper option, but as you have broadband anyway, a router is the better option

If someone as inept as myself can setup and secure a wireless network than i'm sure you'll be ok.

I have a Netgear DG834G and stream to the laptop using VLC Media Player.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll give the Wireless PCI card a go.
