I have to say RTD writing has finally improved immeasurably last night. He might finally have got into the groove of writing good stories. It definitely improved as a series towards the end.

No I think you might be right. Wasn't it the case that in episode "Dalek", the doctor told it that it was the last one left and it acknowledged it could not communicate with any others ?

Stunning episode, Edge of the seat stuff with just the right amount of humour. Best episode of a great series only problem now is it's going to be hard to maintain the quality.

I was expecting this to be godawful but it turned out to be excellent!

Hopefully we'll have plenty like this next season and the likes of Aliens of London and Boom Town will be nowt but a bad memory.

Captian Jack reminds me of Harry Harrison's "Staineless Steel Rat"

Good episode, bit of a shock when Rose was "Zapped"
Roll on next week.

Cap'n Jack reminds me of Lord Flasheart; anyone think that the shot of the Dalek fleet looked incredibly like the ships from Mars Attacks!? 'We come in peace...ex-term-in-ATE!'

It was sent in place of the person taken to make it look like they had been Zzapped!!
Shame we found out she was not leaving after all as that would of made us think she realy was dead

For you maybe -- IMO they were both quality episodes, and I look forward to seeing them again.

That was a SUPERB episode - my only fear is all the TV references will date it badly, but still.

Many great moments, such as The Doctors eviction, then him belittling TV in general, then immediately talking about his favourite TV show. Then, there was Captain Jack and his weapon storage area

The whole Bad Wolf thing has been a great linking thread - very Babylon 5 - can't wait to find out who 'the voice' was -

Some people i've spoken to seem sure that Billie Piper drops the F-bomb towards the end of the episode when she wakes up in the Dalek craft and we cut to the Dalek-eye P.O.V. shot and just after Rose says 'No! It can't be!'. Didn't catch it myself, off to watch Bad Wolf again just to make sure. Anyone else notice this post-watershed exclamation getting past Auntie's censors?

I think it says a lot for the quality of the series that no single episode has been disliked by almost everybody - some viewers might not have liked certain episodes, but others have enjoyed them thoroughly.

After all, they can't please everybody all of the time

Brilliant ep, and I'm really warming to the Doctor now. I really wasn't sure about his 'gurning' but it's actually got a slight sinister edge to it that captures the inhumanity of the Doctor well.
Excellent speech at the end as well.

Nobody else has mentioned it yet, but the 'I moisturise' line had the whole Alexander family laughing.

Outstanding episode. I was doing a few things when it started but after 15minutes I was hooked. Loved the old Dalek control room sound and the end scenes with the Daleks sent a shiver down my spine. Can't wait till next week now! I hope they don't make the Daleks stupid next week as they've been extremely well written so far. I'm looking forward to who that voice was and hopefully it'll be some good payoff.

Thought it was a fun episode (although still hindered by godawful music) but the whole thing was almost undone by the completely unnecessary spoiler from last week's coming soon section. I can't think how much better it could have been if we didn't see that coming. Stupid beeb - especially after making efforts to stop the spoiler in the last two parter. If RTD's got so much clout over the series shouldn't he be able to stop things like that happening?

We thoroughly enjoyed it but I had to risk injury to reach the channel-change button on our Freeview box before the trailer got underway, I thought they had learned this lesson when the trailer was moved after "The Empty Child" but apparently not

Looking forward to the seemingly inevitable end-of-series cliffhanger now!

She does mutter something, but it sounds like her saying 'ah' as she nearly falls over when getting up off the floor. Could be mis-interpreted as a naughty word by people though.
