If you are a keen astronomer or just have a passing interest it's worth installing Stellarium from http://www.stellarium.org/
"Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.
It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go."
I love my Ambify App but then I've got 9 Philips H-u-e light bulbs in my flat apartment.
If you don't know what I'm talking about...
Edit: The other Philips Hue app you use to change the colour of the light bulbs hasn't had great reviews but I've found it more than adequate and it allows you to make your own scenes, share them and download other peoples' via the website. It is really cool to be able to drag individual light bulb icons (or groups of them) across any picture you've got and have the light change to that colour.

I don't use the Ambify app very often it is the Phillips h-u-e main app I use with the lights mostly. Each light bulb is wifi enabled and communicates with the small round base unit which plugs into your router. Each bulb is numbered but I renamed all my bulbs to indicate where they were e.g. lounge lamp 2. You can then change the colour, saturation and brightness of the lights individually or in groups through the Phillips hue app.
The hue app has some interesting features. Once you have all the lights the way you want them you can save them to a colour scheme and activate it at the touch of you ipad screen. Pictures can be imported from your camera roll or you can even download user created colour schemes from their website (or upload your own). You can drag numbered light bulb icons around any picture and the lights will change to reflect that part of the picture. So if you want a sunset themed colour scheme, using a picture of a sunset is a good starting point. If that sounds cool then i can assure you it really is. One thing I would say is that if you plan to get these lights it is important to have white-ish coloured walls and ceilings. I recently moved into a flat and knew I wanted to get the Phillips Hue light bulbs so planned accordingly. I hope this answers your question.
I haven't managed to get plex to work with my older Samsung tv's DLNA, so if you're looking for something for one of them, id also recommend Serviio which worked for me 'out the box'
Toss up between posting here or the finance forum but here goes ...
Does anyone know of an app (or even a service) that texts you your account balance on a regular basis to keep you aware of your ever-diminishing funds?
Surely you just use your bank's mobile app?
Nationwide has a Quick Balance button on theirs. You fire up the app (a couple of seconds) and press the button - no logging in required. You have to configure the app to allow this in the first place of course and can stop it at will. Superb.
Finally we get an update to ICE - Microsoft's excellent photo panorama programme. Comes in 32/64bit, and has a couple of extra features, such as "intelligent fill" and "stop motion" from video.
Not tried it yet, but I did see mentioned that it's linked to Bing ads and a social panorama community, which may or may not put you off downloading (or you could try blocking with your firewall).

I'll give it a try as been using the old version since 2011/2012.
I find Autostitch(64 Bit now also available,Prev just 32bit) to be more accurate at times but ICE has more options).
Autostitch is for Photos what Virtualdub is for Vid Editing...Built by 1/2 people at Uni and Autostitch is now licenced to be used in some retail software. www.autostitch.net
allows you to quickly switch between audio devices, so in my case i've got a USB headset & also a Logitech speaker system, so I can now quickly flick between them (as in the screenshot below)
