Was trawling though the MajorGeeks web site when I came across something called Advanced WindowsCare v2 Personal (freeware).
Anyone using this/ got any experience of it ??

Another well known free package is GIMP and there is a Photoshop style front end available for it from http://www.gimpshop.net/.
I haven't used either of these myself but I've heard good reports.

Can anyone suggest a good toolbar utility that is free. similar to what YzDock used to be (before Apple killed em off!) and like object dock is now?

YzDock is still available from some places, if no longer supported. I haven't used it myself but I've heard good things about RK Launcher.
