Cliffhanger Jap R2 - fully uncut?

Does anyone know if the Japanese release of Cliffhanger is the totally uncut version?

I have the R1 but wondered if anyone here who owns the Japanese version can confirm this?

From what I gather the differences from the R1 cut and the jap cut are extra footage in the shootout on the plane, and the full death scene of "Travers".

Maybe because it costs a fortune so few people own it. I just went for the Korean DTS edition.

Ah well, thats a surprise and a shame, I was under the impression that the R2 Japanese DVD was the fully uncut print.

I was only going to buy it if its totally uncut.
Im not going to pay Ł33 for it to find out its not uncut.

As I understand it, the region 1 editions have always been uncut. Certainly with the US special edition, director Renny Harlin makes no mention on his audio commentary of having censored anything from the original locked cut of the movie.

(by the way, the special edition is really fantastic and really worth buying. See if you can spot the slight mistake in the original Cliffhanger trailer! )
