Thought she was awful. Completely off her face and inept.

The problem with this show now is the irregularity that comes from a different host each week, its become very hit and miss and sometimes you just know that Phil and Noel must be cringing inside. That chair in the centre needs to be filled by someone that knows what they are doing, knows the show and has dry, acerbic wit and some sensibility to balance against Noel and Phil.

Of the ones I've seen recently, I'd say give the chair to Wogan.

I'd give it to Lee Mack as he was genuinely funny and had a nice rapport with Noel as they were mates.
I found the Wogan ep quite cringe.

Two words: Rhod Gilbert. He was awesome last series. Lee Mack is the only one who comes close. Wogan was great for one episode, but it wouldn't work week in week out (and I used to be a huge fan of his radio show, so I'm biased in his favour).

Loved Lee Mack doing this, great chemistry going on and he's sharp and funny. Last season the highlight was Rhod Gilbert. The mystery celebrity thing is starting to wear a little thing for me, it's just too inconsistent. Have I Got News has been using this formula for years, some are good, some not so good, but rarely do they have anyone quite bad. So maybe a bit more quality control?

Rhod's doesn't need to return as he has his own panel show now. Producers saw the Buzzcocks he did and they knew that he worked best with Greg Davis but he couldn't be on each week unless they made him a captain, so they made a new format.
The main problem with the current new host each week, on top of the quality levels changes, is that most of the hosts haven't seen the show before and just "don't get it". Now I see Josh Groban is the next host, when he was a guest a couple of years back he was brilliant and totally "got it" so lets hope he can do autoque.

I remember that. I assumed he would be some jumped up american out of his depth, but instead came across really well

Just watched the Lewis episode. Car crash tv-tastic!
Was she a last-minute replacement? It felt like the script was written for someone else as she clearly didn't understand most of the jokes she was telling.
Not good at all.

I say dump Phil and get Groban on as a captain opposite Noel. I like the guest presenters, I don't think they need to find a permanent host... they just need to get rid of Phil. I don't know if it was a bit with him telling Groban to stop singing... but it was lame and painfully unfunny. Also kind of rude.

Yeah, Jupitus has been awful for years.
Infact, was he ever good?

I'd get rid of both captains. Replace Noel with Rhod Gilbert

Thought Groban was excellent, made a refreshing change from all the really awful episodes we've been 'treated' to recently!
...Noel Fielding is an unfunny tosser, I saw one of his live routines recently...just awful!
...and I can't really understand all the plaudits for RhodGilbert, he's got such an irritating voice and is just as unfunny as Fielding...as for his own panel show, that's just embarrassingly bad!!!
...I'm afraid Mock the Week without Frankie Boyle is still far funnier than this (...and 8 out of 10 Cats sh1ts on them both!!!...Christmas special had me wetting myself)

Groban was great. It's a shame he's an obscenely successful artist otherwise he'd be a brilliant team captain/host.

Anyone see it last night? Frankie Boyle hosted.
I spent half the episode trying to figure out if it was a repeat or not, as I thought the series had ended before Christmas. Looks like it was a new one though, & it was probably funnier than the rest of the current series combined!

I thought the same at first, wasn't sure it it was a repeat or not. It was a really good episode though, everyone seemed to be really enjoying it which made a massive difference to the atmosphere.

I assumed it was a repeat as Frankie Boyle referenced Strictly Come Dancing which finished before Xmas. No matter though, was still funny
