Do these work well. Can you really hide all the other remotes away. Argos have got some for about £30, is this the sort of thing to go for or should you get something better?
Not sure about the cheaper ones but the kameleon rocks. I see no reason why the others shouldn't. Just make sure you get one with a learning ability, i.e. you program it to replicate the original, as there will always be one or two functions not copied.
They have codes for practically anything you will have so that side shouldn't be an issue. My other six remotes have now been stored in a safe place and I can see my table again.

Sainsbury's had a DVD extras kit which included a multi remote and some other stuff for less than the £30 that Argos is asking.
I have a One for All 6 URC-7562 which works perfectly for me on my Sony TV, DVD, video, hifi system, and Yamaha VS-10.
Well, except for the DVD fast forward buttons not working properly in the Home Theatre mode, that is (they only seem to move forward at normal playback speed, although they work fine in DVD only mode).
I've also got a One for All 6 which operates my TV, VCR, DVD, CD player, AV amp and Grundig Freeview box.
The ability for it to learn additional functions is very useful but there is a limit to the number it has space for (about 25 or so I think) and I've managed to reach that limit. This is a bit annoying cos I have a few more functions I'd like it to learn.
On the whole though I think it's very good value for the price, certainly better than the previous One for All 6 I bought about 4 years ago. I still keep the original remotes nearby (in a storage box) for the occasional function (for example my One for All hasn't got the space to learn the VideoPlus+ function for the VCR) but I rarely need to use them.
