The main issue I have is whenever we have a lead the defence just decides to keep giving the ball away. Think Palace were unlucky today and its amazing we are still in touch with a top four place the way we have been playing.
Wonder who they have lined up in the summer to replace JD. Great club servant and will miss him a lot.

It worries me how laboured we were on our way to a 'routine win' - I know Palace have improved under Pulis but we should really smashing them. Sherwood said it best in his interview, our players are better players.
What a revelation Bentaleb is however. His ascension to the first time will have put a lot of noses out of joint.

We laboured to a 1-0 win earlier in the season against them when they were much, much worse - even that was a dodgy penalty if I remember correctly.

Yes - you're right.
We've been found out a bit this season, no Bale, no surprises, no match winner. Eriksen seems to be the only one with a bit of that spark in him. Unless Lamela decides to arrive...

Talk of Holtby heading back to Germany - I do like him but he hasn't really kicked on enough, probably doesn't help now that he wouldn't exactly fit our new system.

I think its a mistake, the guy is quality, it was just AVB's system that didn't suit him, I've seen sparks of brilliance from him, defence splitting passes and some great efforts on goal. We should keep him until at least the summer.

There's no way he'll go back unless we recoup the 30M

Capoue to leave as well? Obviously a lot of discontent about with players not getting game time.

Just worried that it might in part be Sherwood throwing his weight around / making his mark on the squad - which don't get me wrong, as Head Coach he has the right to, I'm just not 100% convinced Levy plans for Tim to be the manager post-World Cup, in which case isn't it better to give the players the time now and reassess in the summer? Holtby will hopefully only depart on loan. Bentaleb has done really well and I was at the game on Saturday and he was clearly our most industrious player but I'd still use him sparingly and I'd definitely have Sandro/Paulinho/Dembele ahead of him the majority of the time. Sandro and Paulino have mostly been injured during Sherwood's reign so far (to be fair about 10 of the squad have been!), so we've yet to see how he will line them up. Once Lamela is back from injury we have to be giving him some proper playing time too.

Bentaleb coming in for Capoue seems like a real snub, he has been a decent performer for us this season from what I have seen and Bentaleb, at the moment, is not an upgrade on the first team.
Levy and Baldini did some fantastic work in bringing in these players, seems awfully short sighted to cash in so soon if the rumours are to be believed particularly considering that Capoue can cover in central defence where Kaboul is doing his best Ledley King impression.

I guess we just have way too many midfielders for the system Sherwood prefers. Seems very shortsighted recruitment in the summer if a managerial change results in massive surpluses in the squad.
I've kinda liked what I've seen of Capoue but there's only two spots available and there are better players ahead of him.

Are we getting rid of Holtby too? We do have a load of midfielders who are probably on handsome wages. Outside of Townsend, Paulinho, Dembele , Sandro and Lennon I'm not sure who I'd seriously miss.

Sherwood shaking it up today with just Adebayor up front (arguably he has anyway with Soldados form). So far so good

Another good team performance today, Adebayor once again the difference. We need another LB though....not convinced at all with Rose at this level.

Excellent team performance, good to see that Sherwood has the nouce to change tactics game by game, Bentaleb impressive once again. Never thought I'd say this but Adebayor is a joy to watch right now, hope his form carries on.

Can't really knock Sherwood's league record, even if I think he's gonna get found out tactically against the big boys.
Level on points with Liverpool.

Nice to see another three points on the board, even against a weakened/lack of confidence side.
Bentaleb looked steady if unspectacular, which was pleasing.
Adebayor really has taken his latest chance more seriously than previously.A long period out of the first team has seemingly increased his commitment level.
Eriksen looks like he's finding his feet a bit more of late.Chadli ...... I'm not sure I see the point of him thus far.
Lloris looks back to his good form, pre concussion.
Will be a bit of a shame if we have lost Holtby, I like his work ethic and tackling.
Anyone on the radar during the transfer window ?
