"Fringe has consistently remained high in the ratings", sorry Colin but no it hasn't which is why this final season renewal is such good news for fans of the show.
The US ratings are actually terrible (even for a Friday night) and Warner Bros will be practically giving it away to Fox knowing that the show will make them money in future syndication and worldwide dvd sales.
