I am looking for books that deal with early commercial aviation, especially early commercial jet aviation (Boeing 707, DC8 etc) before 1967. The onus must be on the passengers' perspective and well illustrated.
Not quite the same era, but have you read 1927 by Bill Bryson. One of my favourite books of all time and amazingly interesting. Whilst it covers a lot that happens, notionally the Charles Lindbergh flight (but not massively so, more the aftermath) but does discuss the early days of aviation, attempts for early travel across the Atlantic, etc.
