I am thinking of treating myself to the trilogy on Blu....were the issues with the second movie resolved? I guess that if I get a pack that has the issue then I can send it back for a swap if that offer is still valid?

Would think that getting new you won't have any problems now as it was some years ago (around Dec 2009) - second hand could be a risk though... it was fixed at the time by returning the disk or changing the set (I did this)...

As orac says, any problemos appear to have been fixed now. More importantly, you buy the first and second movies separately now on Blu-Ray and pretty cheaply - you don't have to get saddled with that misbegotten abortion of an entirely unnecessary done-to-pay-off Copolla's-massive-1980s-debt mountain of a freakin' third movie

Cheers guys...and good point :-) I'll have a look at any extras....
This must be the same 'unseen' one that the BBC screened in the late 70s. I've often wondered if it would show up again.
BBC version shown in the 70s or 80s was cut for TV - violence removed. This is apparently uncut. Its just Godfather 1&2, not 3.
I am not sure I am that bothered - it won't have the superb transfer like the blu ray set has. Coppola could do this via branching if he wanted to?
Instructions:
Put in The Godfather II disc, it then it plays the old scenes and some extra ones. then tells you to put in The Godfather disc and watch all of it, then back to The Godfather II disc which plays the all the scenes which aren't the flashbacks and then The Godfather III!!
It obviously won't work as The Godfather II blu ray isn't divided into chapters like that to be able to do it.
I think Godfather II works better as it is though?

I read that there is a re-edited/re-constructed version of Godfather III being released on blu ray in December. Not sure how much they can really change about the film but I am sure I will be suckered into buying it...

Mario Puzo’s THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone
I've never had a problem with Part III - yes, it's not as good as Part I and Part II but thought it was a good film and a good end.
I'd be interested to see what this new version is like.
