Panasonic Remotes mix-up?

I have heard that remote controls of similar devices from the same manufacturer - especially Panasonic - can cause one to trigger the other by mistake. So, if I have two Panasonic BD players close to each other - one 6-years old and the other new 4K bluetooth tech - can their remotes get confused?

This happens on my two Humax freeview/freesat boxes - both remotes control both boxes.

You can however set each remote to a different code set, so they no longer interfere with each other. Maybe a similar option for the Panasonic, but not sure.
